This was a game that went back and forth, back and forth. We didn't see a punt in this game until the 4th quarter. It seemed as though when either team got the ball they were going to put up some kind of points on the board. Don't have a play by play for this one as it was too late to write one when we finished last night, so I'll do my best.

The Eagles opened the game with the ball and would march rather easily down the field. However their drive stalled out around the 10 yard line when the Redskins came up big on third down and forced a 4th and inches. Playing the "points first" game, the Eagles elected to take the 3 points and the early lead. The Redskins, led by RGIII, would waste no time. They just as easily marched down the field on Philly and took the early lead back 7-3. This would be a reocurring theme as Tannehill, on their next possession, would find Desean Jackson for a long TD reception. 10-7 Eagles. How long did that lead last? About as long as you did the first time you got a**! Return man for the Redskins, Brandon Banks, would find a gap on the ensuing kickoff and take it to the house. 14-10 Skins. Fast forward to the end of the half where the Eagles had retook the lead 17-14. The Redskins had a 1st and goal from the Eagles 1 yard line. With their backs against the wall, the Philly D came up huge and stopped three straight run attempts by Jake Rolf. Washington was held to a field goal which tied it up 17-17. The Eagles would add a last second field goal and go into the break up 20-17. In the second half, the Eagles started to pull away. It was a battle of offense all day long and Philadelphia's was the one that never missed a beat. Gaining 495 yards of total offense was the key in this one for them. Neither defense was really anything to talk about. But the Eagles did force 2 late turnovers, which sealed the Redskins' fate, and also accounted for 6 sacks. One of the best teams in the league this year in that category. The Eagles would go onto win this divisional matchup 41-27.

    Next Up:

The Eagles will take on an unfamiliar face when they travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans. The Titans seem to be in good shape in the AFC South, so it should be a good one. The Redskins will be back at home to take on the winless Minnesota Vikings. A big game for both teams as neither can afford to fall into the dreaded early season slump.

    Co-Players of the Game:

    QB Ryan Tannehill - 10 for 17, 361 yards, 4 TDs 0 INTs
    RB Lesean McCoy - 16 carries, 147 yards, 1 TD .... 1 catch, 54 yards, 1 TD
