The Philadelphia Eagles entered week 17 matchup with nothing to play for but "confidence" against a Cowboys team playing in front of their home fan base with their playoff lives in the balance. In what turned out to be the theme of the game defense dominated early with both teams trading punts with little offense to speak of. With a 10-3 lead and finding their way deep into Philadelphia territory the Cowboys lined up for a pivotal 3rd down with an opportunity to go up 2 touchdowns on a Eagles team that did little offensively to that point. What could've been a game ender turned into a game changer as the pass was intercepted in the end zone and returned all the way to even the score. The Eagles were able to put together a scoring drive to take the lead at 17-10 and from there the defense continued its strong performance to put the game away.
