Should we start figuring out conferences and teams?
Its never too early to discuss this....haha.
Should start by figuring out who is all returning for next release?
Are we gonna have to do the draft again, which means some of us wouldn't be returning anyway?
I hope not. Im hoping management realizes that didnt really work out too well.
Same. I like this league. Except for Jello.
I will be here next release.
I will. And i've got a proposition for drafting teams that I'm using for my league with my friends.
It will be like an NBA Lottery Draft where we will all get ticket stubs in accordance to our win percentage. Then someone (i'd offer to do it) would do a live stream and everyone could tune in and i'd pick out tickets until everyone is drawn and gets their spot. Once we see who is coming back and who is not, we can use @Jello1717's little spread sheet of win percentages (if he has all of ours). Just a thought. But i'll explain for those who are confused below:
There re 12 teams (A-L). Their win percentages go in descending order. So Team A has say a .954 win percentage, Team B has a .932, and so on. This then will reverse order and make the lowest percentage (Team L) have 12 stubs, then Team K gets 11 and so on.
Hope you all like it cause it's something different than just a random draw.
Thoughts on how to handle the guys who joined mid release? Wazzu will have three months of games.
If we went by Total Wins, then i'd be concerned. But if we go by win percentage, i think that works better. The only person who i'd have a question mark about is (like you said) Wazzu. Everyone else has enough wins to have pretty good footing.
How about we go by seniority
But i'm young! I still can't buy a beer yet
Seniority as in how long you've been in the league.
I'm thinking in terms of conferences:
Big 12 (add teams to make a CCG) or ACC
I'd say let's go 2 conference set up with the ACC/SEC because then we don't run into the problem we had this year with us over powering the recruiting trail.
A lot of players here are B1G fans....maybe eliminate SEC so they can dominate the South on there own?
That is better... I would then suggest we do Big East but i know that Jello has a stick up his ass about doing that. If we are all centralized around the same place it's a lot better to hold down us from spreading across the nation. Maybe B1G, Big 12?
I'm not real interested in playing in a two conference league. As far as team selection we need to come up with a plan based on winning % as UofC said and let the teams with the worst winning % pick first. Not sure if this is possible but we could start a new dynasty on the side and everyone pick a team and make a custom conf. with everyone in it. Then we all play each other and pick based on the standings.
I have to agree with edge though, I like the three conference set up. Still four people to a conference and if we do B1G, ACC, SEC.....we will have massive recruiting wars with each other.
And I was thinking we just do the throw the name in hat thing and call it good. Just because someone has a low winning %, doesn't mean they would be the same in '13.
I like the ACC, B1G, SEC set up and the name in the hat is good with me.
I would just find a website that randomizes lists and then hit random like 20 times and copy/paste what I get.
Do it. Easier than my idea if we don't go by Win Percentage
My vote would be for B1G, ACC, and Big12
That is if you guys don't kick me out.
Most likely won't have to worry about Cougs. He'll be in AM first
Why would we kick you out?
It was a joke (I hope)
I'm just too good of a player...LOL
I'm not a fan of 2 conferences either even though UofCWildcat has a stick up his ass about 3 conferences.
I'd like us to have a max of prestige teams with which to start which would make the SEC rough since they're all so prestigious (and probably ditto for the B1G).
I'm all for a reverse draft base on performance in this OD. I only keep track of my own games so I don't know everyone else's winning percentages. Still, I'm sure we've all got a rough idea of where people fall in terms of success. Maybe new guys can get the bottom of the barrel unless someone has an idea of where they fit.
As a rough idea of draft order, it would probably be on the order of the following and we could always fine tune it later.
1. Big Suge Knight
8. blLL flo
Separate names with a comma.
