After winning 2 Super Bowl Championships, Eli Manning was releases by the NY Giants. This offseason Eli regressed dramatically in the accuracy department and with a $23 million salary for the upcoming season it just wasn't a smart financial decision to keep him. The organization hoped he would retire but Eli felt like he had more football left in him.
The Giants are officially making the switch to 3-4 this year and JPP didn't fit into those plans so he was trade to the Chargers with a 1st pick in upcoming draft for disgruntled MLB D. Butler and LE K. Reyes. The Giants also got the steal of the offseason by trading their 2nd round pick for OLB N. Perry.

A complete offseason update coming at conclusion of FA.

I agree, Perry is like a poor mans Paul Kruger or Barkevious Mingo.
