For those soccer fans that cannot get enough match coverage via regular cable TV, you will love the new ESPN channel that comes with the new XBL system refresh. Last night I was able to create my own channels for the leagues I follow (La Liga, Barclays PL, etc...) and then watch any (or so it appears any) match that was played this weekend. Also, the quality is HD for some of them. If not, it appears better than SD when watching matches through the both Fox (FSC) and Goal (GOL) channels. Enjoy!
Ya if there was one thing I took away from the XBL update, it was the ESPN thing. Holy shit it's amazing
Randeezy I was under the impression you had to be in an ESPN3.com network to get access to this stuff. Is it all standard with the new update?
ESPN3.com is part of the web, not tied to a particular service provider. The XBL update gives access to anyone with gold membership level. This is just another reason why we are pay for our service. Things like this, free movies and music are all pretty great deals. I always run last.fm when I have people over, its great.
WRONG. Your ISP has to offer ESPN3 for you to get it to work on your 360. This is part of the terms on the 360. I was checking it out last night and the quality is great. My HDTV doubles as my computer monitor (HDMI video card whatttttt), but I must say that I like the quality and "look" of it on the console much more than on the computer.
yeah, I am not seeing this. when i log in, its just clips... all the way over to the left it has a window for events and shows. I click into events and shows and it does not have any live games listed, or even replays... I feel like im missing something
Rich I am having the same problem and after some research I think it comes down tot he Time Warner Cable/ESPN dispute. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you have Time Warner Cable service?
Indeed... i do. With my Time Warner, I can watch on espn3.com as of last week or so, but the Xbox version seems to be missing content.
ahhhhhhhhhhrrrrrrgggggg. I hate Time Warner. Always have. At my old place I had ATT Uverse and it was great.
Is that why I am unimpressed? Time Warner JUST started offering ESPN3, so maybe it will be better for me soon.
I think for those of us that have it we would agree its awesome. Rich, keep us posted with this. Another good spot for content through all ISPs is dslreports.com
Not sure if anyone has checked out the upcoming list of soccer matches on ESPN3, but there are some great matches being brought into XBL this weekend. For starters, Villarreal has their toughest match yet against Barcelona (4pm EST). Typically Barcelona and Real Madrid are the only clubs at the top of the Table, but Villarreal has been on pace this season. In the words of Martin Tyler "This one is sure to be a cracker". I encourage everyone who has this to check it out.
