Despite the loss of some key players from last year's team, there is plenty of buzz over the new look Dallas Cowboys. Specifically, the defense. All of the major players will return on offense with the exception of RB. But word is that J. Randle has a firm grip on the #1 spot and is taking full advantage of that OL.

On defense, some new pieces have been added and it has everyone talking Championship. Along the DL, DEs G. Hardy (FA) and R. Gregory (rookie) were brought in and they should immediately help out the pass rush. Two words describe this DL. Speed and versatility. Hardy and J. Mincey are solid on the edge but just as comfortable rushing from the DT position. A front 4 of D. Lawrence, T. Crawford, G. Hardy and R. Gregory can make any QB uneasy.
    S. Lee will step into a new role at WLB. With his speed and awareness, it should be a productive spot for him. R. McClain returns as the prototypical MLB, a solid tackler with a nose for the ball. And the depth behind these 2 is the best the Cowboys have seen in a long time.
That front 7 will make the back 4 better. But even in the secondary, you will see more than 4 players making an impact. The one everyone will have their eyes on is rookie DB B. Jones. He can cover WRs from the CB position, direct the coverages from the Safety position and he can stick with athletic TEs as a Nickel corner. Yes, these are exciting times in Dallas. Will that excitement carry them to the playoffs and beyond?
    Stay tuned...
