    TFL 2011 Season-2 Premier League Match Results

    Props to @ryalaman

    Greatest 0-0 draw i've ever been apart of. Each of us had point blank chances to get on the board and our keepers stepped up big time. I look forward to the return match later on this season.

    I think (including friendlies) this is the 4th of 5th game we've had in a row thats been 0-0 after 90. I'm not sure how or why that keeps happening... we both have pretty potent offenses.

    yea, we played well defensively with 32 tackles in all. Our back line is more solid now with the addition of Onyewu to the starting lineup. He's big and tough on any wingers that try and get down his side.. Silva, Nesta, Zambrotta and Onyewu were the MVP's of the game. They were fantastic at stopping Van Persie from getting loose.

    it was a close game though, Arsenal had several chances to even things and we also had multiple opportunities to extend the lead. Ibrahimovic banged a free kick off the top crossbar in the first half that would have really opened up the game for us... but as it was, it was a grind until the end.

    @Randiesel75

    FYI, there appears to be an error with man of match awards. When I played Jface, he said that he saw a different man of match than I did. Not sure why.

    Good game brotha. The first yellow on van Bommel shouldn't have happened, I didn't even think it was a foul, let alone a booking. The second yellow was a wrong button press by me. Ah well, he'll be gone soon anyway Haha. Good luck the rest of the way man.

    You'd better get what you can out of Gooch now and start looking for his replacement.

    He was loaned out to Dutch side FC Twente, so you will lose him after the roster update.

    yea we will look a bit different after transfers... not sure how i will integrate incoming players but for now.. Pato will replace Ronadinho and Antonini will get inserted back into the back line in place of Onyewu. Whatever else we get will have to be evaluated. We already have a solid upfront with Ibra, Robinho, Pato.. not sure how someone cracks that three.

    Great game to ryal.. He had a couple of great chances but Buffon came up big. It was an even game that could have gone either way. I was very happy to get out with the win. He'll be a force throughout the season and even though he had a tough first week, expect him to be in the top 3 or 4 when all is said and done.

    I'll get my Juve page updated tomorrow.

    Olympique Lyon made the trip to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa in their opening fixture of the season. Teammates for club and country, Yoann Gourcuff and Jeremy Toulalan passed and dribbled their way through the Villa defense and worked hard on both ends of the pitch. The French Internationals hooked up in the 34th as Gourcuff dribbled to the endline and laid it off to Toulalan who clinicially finished backpost past American GK Brad Friedel. Friedel would be Villas best player making some tough saves and finishing with with an 8.0 rating.

    Villa would battle hard, playing tons of longballs to their big target men but Lyon was up for it and was a step quicker to 50/50 balls. Villa managed only 4 shots versus Lyon's 16 and struggled to complete passes in a tight midfield. Stephen Ireland tried his best to penetrate the Lyon defense completing a Villa high 16 dribbles, but this paled in comparison to Lyon's attack as Toulalan, Gourcuff, and Gomis all completed over 20 dribbles.

    Lyon will return to the Stade de Gerland in France for their next fixture against Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid.

    @Randiesel75 - Great game. I wasn't sure what my defense would bring in the second half but it was just enough to get the job done.
