Key Calgiari Players for Season 6
    CAM - Andrea Cossu #7 - 80 Overall
    [IMG]
One of the better playmakers in all of Italy. At 32 he is a bit long in the tooth, but he is a poor man's Pirlo. While he lacks shooting ability he floats around the attacking 3rd of the field looking to set-up the strikers in front of him.
    CB - Davide Astori#13 - 78 Overall
    [IMG]
Go Devils system necessitates strong play from its Center Backs. Astori represents the next wave of strong Italian central defenders in his tactical awareness, tackling, and heading ability.
    CM - Radja Nainggolan # 4 - 78 Overall
    [IMG]

This young Belgian provides youth, pace, and a long shot from the midfield for Cagliari. One of the more desired young midfielders in Europe, the best is still yet to come from this player.

Cagliari picks up first win of the season on the road
    [IMG]
If Cagliari has any chance at success in Season 6 it will be because of a great defense, goal keeping, and timely scoring. The roaring days of offense for manager Go Devils just won't cut it with this team of supposed non-match fixers. And that was mutch of the gameplan early on in this contest as Cagliari sought out to score and then play off the counter attack the rest of the contest trying to play well in their own half. Isaac Oyer played very solid for his first week in the TFS really cooking up the offensive pressure. But it would be Mauricio Pinilla taking a pass from Cossu and playing an off move on Renne defense en route to putting the ball past Costil for the only goal of the game. From there Cagliari did its best to save off the French sides fearsome attack. Big game by Ekdal playing in a new CDM role for Cagliari as it tries to find the right formation to fit the talent of this group of men.

Very evenly played match that was a see-saw affair in the first half. The fans of the Rossoblu saw their team come out strong early on with ST Pinilla taking the pass on the break and scoring past a diving Howard's left side at 31'. But the lead for the Sardinians would be short lived as Everton came out on fire in the 2nd half culminating with ST Jelavic taking a pass across the 18-yard box and burrying a crossing shot past Agazzi to even the game. Both teams looked very tired and slow deep into the 2nd half with Cagliari failing to score on a corner in the closing seconds. GG Geneseo98.. very entertaining match.

Cagliari survives on the road in a draw with Braga one all. Both teams came out flying with goals on their first shots. From there it was an 8th grade prom with the two teams feeling each other out without much to show for it. Cagliari started to run out of gas early in the 2nd half and their defenders started getting sloppy, as a result Pinilla was booked for a sloppy tackle. It's been said before, but if Cagliari is going to move on in this tourney it's going to be because of hard work in their half and in midfield. They'll need more if they expect to win their remaining two matches.

Really was a wide open match. Just not a ton of speed to punish on the counter attack.

    Summary:
Big game between two teams itching to move up in the world of the TFS. LA played a very solid match early on with Landon Donovan missing a chance to put the Galaxy up a goal at the 10' mark. That was the break Cagliari needed coming off a confidence gain off their draw in the Coppa, Mauricio Pinilla had one the best games of his life, scoring the first of the night's hat trick in the 24'. From there the Galaxy started to turn up the pressure and Cagliari began to simply pass around the slide tackles. The keep away paid off early in the 2nd half as Pinilla scored goal number two on the break with CDM Ekdal edging a pass through the Galaxy keeper to put Cagliari up 2-0. And then things just got ugly. The Galaxy began to show an uncharacteristicly un-LA attitude going at any Cagliari player possessing the ball with studs up, and it will cost them in the future. Donovan was the first to get in the book with a classy tackle of GK Agazzi with no one around him. Then it was David Beckham's turn near the end of the match with a slide tackle off the ball becoming the 2nd Galaxy player to earn a caution. Pinilla was at it again just after the booking taking a pass from Ibardo scoring on an open net. He had missed the hat trick chance on an open net just 4 minutes earlier.
Not a pretty game... but a win is a win... and Cagliari seems to have found a poacher in Pinilla. I would say GG again to redwings8831 like I did after the game. But as usual he doesn't respond and just signed off.

Sausage Fest Season 6 as Cagliari faced its second German opponent in consecutive games. Cagliari fired first on the counter with Andrea Cossu firing a low cross to the foot of Ibardo for a one-timer in the back of the net, but Cagliari was given off on the play, and that would be the story of the mach for the Italian club in the offensive third, missed opportunities on off-sides. Not for Stuttgart, boy oh boy could this game resulted similar to their match against Hoffenheim. By unofficial count, Stuttgart scuffed the woodwork around Agazzi at least 3 times in the 1st half. In the end both teams could have won this game, but for the most part the German side was unlucky not to wipe the floor with their southern Italian counterparts. This one is for sure, the Cagliari goal posts will need a fresh coat tomorrow morning.

After settling up on their Coppa affair in Cagliari, both teams headed across the water to Palermo where the teams played again in league play. After scoring on a questionable penalty called in the Coppa match, Pinilla really was in form with full confidence scoring his 6th and 7th goals in league play this year to give Cagliari a 2-0 lead until late in the game when Illcic spoiled Aggazi from gaining his league leading 6th clean sheet.

Matchday 9 put the top two teams in Serie C against each other in a fight for tops among promotion getters. Kazan was tough early on with Martins controlling much of the play down the wing, culminating in a good goal my Natcho Natcho Man at 40'. But Cagliari tightened it up and pushed hard up front pressing the ball around Kazan's 18 yard box and it paid off as a fk by Ibardo found the back of the net just before half time.
Lots of good chances in the 2nd half. Puzzling moment: Pinilla scored at 84' but was slide tackled after the play and the ref called a penalty. Pinilla hit it off the wood work and the game finished tied at 1-1. That was lame.

Tight match tonight against two teams that have played each other 5 times in the past 2 seasons. Both managers respect the other and it shows in the play. Athletic Club dominated play early on as the Munian / Llorente showed did their job early as Suseta picked up a blocked shot from his own midfielder and burried it to give Athletic Club a 1-0 lead that carried late into the contest. But with a few remaining minutes left on the clock Cagliari found themselves in a position that have rarely been in all season, losing by a goal. The pressure was turned up on the counter, and the southern Italian poacher Pinilla was called on to bail his team out. And that he did late in the contest deep into the 90th minute, he cut across the 18 yard box and burried a bender to salvage a tie in a contest where Cagliari really could have used all 3 points to pull farther ahead in the race for promotion behind Kazan.

I know we are not supposed to use offline settings, but if you have people in Serie C who would be ok with that you can ask them, so you don`t deal with all these. It is not like you are gonna cheat or anything. It is just line up issue.

You are gonna need to be really fast to make these changes though. 4 of these guys in starting 11 are reserves or subs. You are gonna need to move up some reserve players to subs. It's not impossible to do it in a minute, but really hard.

Remember, we have a full minute to make changes this year, not just 30 seconds. I have to make a ton of changes to Stuttgart, too - formation, starters, reserves AND subs. But I can still get it done with 15-20 seconds to spare without rushing.
