    Newly managed by CxMacx10
    SERIE A: Season 6
Manager CxMacx10 left his successful Wolves squad after falling short of a Serie A title. In 3 seasons with Wolves, he was able to win Serie B and fall one point short on winning the Serie A title in consecutive seasons. Also made multiple trips to the Coppa semi-finals and added a finals birth. But in the 3 seasons, there was no Stars or Trophies in the signature to show for it.
The manager finds himself with a team much more gifted then his teams of the past. Always well known for his defensive capabilities, this new array of talent could be something that opens up the offensive side of the pitch.

    Starting 11; 4-1-2-1-2 (1)
    GK: Felipe
    RB: Leo Moura
    RCB: David Braz
    LCB: Welinton
    LB: Junior Cesar
    CDM: Willians
    RM: Renato Abreu
    LM: D. Bottinelli
    CAM: Ronaldinho (C)
    RS: Deivid
    LS: Vagner Love
Manager CMac brings in his highly successful formation and strategy from Wolves and looks to implement it with this core set of players. Ronadinho is brilliant in the middle of the pitch and always a threat to score or deliver balls for chances. Fellow Brazilian Vagner Love is a great finisher and goal poacher. Expect these two to lead the way for the Flamengo attack. An underrated part of this Flamengo attack is the ability of the outside back, especially Junior Cesar, to get involved in the play in the final third. This team will be weaker defensively than CMac managed teams of the past, but expect the goal total to increase. Goalkeeper Felipe is a good one and will be called on to keep the team in games.

Brutal finishing leads to the loss. CSKA made better use of their limited chances while this Flamengo side just couldnt find a way past their keeper.

Flamengo notches their first point of the season in earning a 0-0 draw with rival Zikry. Zikry has had this managers number in the past so it is a welcomed draw.

Rocky start for CMac and his new club. A lot of hype surrounding this Flemengo attack as they have been impressive in friendlies, some even touting them as the favorite for the title. So far, that has not come to light as they have managed just a single goal and a single point through two matches. Perhaps a formation change may be required to spark this team as the stars that are Vagner Love and Ronaldinho have been next to invisible.

Ronaldinho Finally Arrives for Flamengo with 90' PK Winner

Flemengo picks up their first win of the season in dramatic fashion as a contraversial penalty drawn by Vagner Love in the 90' was put home by Ronaldinho for the 2-1 win. Flamengo controlled the ball a majority of the contest but were only able to land a handful of quality chances. Ronaldinho tallied his first goal of the season on a free kick curled around the wall in the 22nd minute. The 1-0 score would carry on until the 49' when Marco Reus made an absolutely brilliant run resulting in a De Camargo volley goal. The score would remain that way as both teams had a couple chances down n the stretch, but Flamengo was putting an assault for the final 10 minutes or so. Then the controversial call at the start of stoppage time as Vagner Love was taken down in the box as he jostled a defender for the ball just inside the 18. The ref pointed to the spot and Ronaldinho was able to bury it for the game-winner.

    MATCHWEEK 1 RECAP:

Flemengo was the preseason talk of the town and, in the early going, it may have been too much hype. Managing just 4 points in their first three contests is not going to get it done in hopes of a Serie A title. The next matchweek could be crucial in seeing whether or not their needs to be some personnel or formation changes.

On the other hand.... the scheduling for matchweek 1 was no joke. Facing two top four managers from a season ago in Zikry (Who this manager has always struggled against) and rschwep, to go along with a former champion in shiftee. Four points is nothing to write home about but it could have been worse for the side. Earning a win in the lastest match could have been just the jumpstart the side needed with superstar Ronaldinho finally tallying a pair of goals. No doubt they will need to earn better results against top side if the aspiration is to win a title. Perhaps a Coppa run and few wins against some middle tier sides could get Flamengo rolling. If not, their are changes on the horizon.

The Sunderland keeper made a few great saves on Ronaldinho but other than that..... this games was a chess match. No real great chances for either side. Flamengo continues to disappoint with all the preseason hype. The offense everyone expected just isnt there and it will be interesting to see how things shape out for the side. Gordon was the man of the match making saves every time he was called upon. Felipe made just one good save in his clean sheet.

Flamengo was finally able to finish some chances and were able to come out with the 3 points over Serie A newcomer Montpellier. Deivid put the away side ahead early with a header on a cross from Love after he was able to create some space. Flamengo had many more great chances in the first half but were unable to capitalize and went to the break with the 1-0 lead. Montpellier dominated the early goings of the second half and that paid off in the 54rth minute when a miscue just inside the 18 led to a 2 on 0 break which Giroud slotted away for the home side to tie the game. Deivid waited almost no time to get the lead back as just four minutes later he put one off the post and in for the eventual game-winner. Bottinelli tacked one on late for the 3-1 final.

    Matchweek 2 Review

Another less than stellar matchweek for Flamengo as they were able to gain another 4 points. The win coming against a member newly adjusting to Serie A in Montpellier and vipermansa. The loss coming to seasoned vet and perennial top 4 manager Friz and his Spartak Moscow side.. The dram coming in a slugfest with another vet in HokieNYC and his Sunderland side.

    The Good:
The offense is starting to come. After the scoreless draw with Sunderland, the Flamengo side was able to tally 3 against Montpellier. Even in the 1-0 loss to Spartak, the creation of chances and ball possession was leaps and bounds ahead of where it was last matchweek. It is very much so a "back to the basics" approach that has garnered some success. Straying away from constant attack through the middle with Ronaldinho and using more quick passes with wing play. The results will start to come and i have no doubt about that.

    The Bad:
The defense just has 1 or 2 lapses a game....... and in Serie A that will hand you losses in bunches. The 2 Goals allowed this week were both just total lapes or mistakes by defenders. One of which cost the team perhaps a crucial point. Also, none of the defenders have been threats on corners which always hurts.

    Player of the Matchweek:
    Willians
    [IMG]

He really as taken over with his speed in the defensive midfield. His ability to intercept passes have led to breaks the other way. He starts the Flamengo attack a lot of the time and has proven to be a great asset on both sides of the pitch.
