NEWS: Everton Welcomes American Landon Donavan to Goodison Park. The sprightly American Football icon will help Everton chase the Serie A Title for Season 4. Adding to a very light offensive group, L. Donovan and L. Saha could prove to be a dangerous frontline for Everton.

    Everton 2-3 Blackburn

Everton drops their opening Series to Blackburn. The visiting side took the lead on an outside shot that caught the bottom corner of the net away from the outstretched hands of T. Howard. Blackburn doubles the lead as T. Howard inexplicably goes out for the corner only to change his mind in the last second, leaving the net open for the header. Everton found themselves down 2-0. Cahill draws one back as Osman finds him streaking into the box, and finds a leveler in the 60th minute as L. Baines finds him on a cross. Less than a few minutes later, Blackburn takes the lead for good as Pedersen finds the top corner from a spot kick and again T. Howard was left wanting. Blackburn's stout Defense clamped down as a Everton found themselves with a
gasping shot 3 yards from the box, only for it to get blocked by Blackburn's Defense.

"... it was a tough match, we made some mental mistakes and we paid dearly for it. We need to bolster up that Defense, allowing 3 goals is not an Everton norm. We can't afford to get into a shoot out with the lads in Serie A, or else it will be a long Season 4... Good Game BigOx and good luck the rest of the way."

    Everton 0-0 Udinese

Everton shares the spoil against a very hot Udinese squad. T. Howard proves once again why he was the Team MVP last season as he stops a penalty kick. The game was the 3rd draw for both teams in the last three meetings. Manager Friz has proven himself no minnow as the newly promoted Udinese squad, has already taken down last year Serie A runner up. Luckily, Everton's Defense proved worthy as Udinese was unable to find the final pass to get a clear shot on goal.

"... going away, it is a fair result. While we had possession Udinese was the more aggressive squad, and had really good looks. We are fortunate that we were able to get a point... GG Friz, see you in England."

    Everton 2-2 Spartak Moscow

It looked like another defeat, as Spartak Moscow scored first and early and then doubled near the end of half to end the first half 2-0. A tweak at half time to a more offensive minded formation, proved the answer as L. Saha was fouled in the box. L. Baines put the penalty away, to bring Everton closer. Down 1-2 Everton finds an equalizer. From there, Everton absorbed the onslaught as Spartak attempted to take all three points. Game ends in a draw as Everton ends a gauntlet of a Season start as they faced the last two Serie A and B Champions back to back.

"... what a way to start the Season, against three very good Teams and managers, We are happy to walk away with 2 points, in what was a very difficult schedule..."

    Everton 3-3 Corinthians

Everton survives a thriller with visiting Corinthians. The Home Side had to fight back three times against a very offensive minded Corinthians. A disorganized Defense in the beginning allowed for an quick goal, that proved to be the them of the match, as Everton found themselves chasing the rest of the game. Down 1-0, Everton equalizes 1-1, only to be down again, 2-1 in a few minutes. In the end, Everton shares the spoils with the Brazilian visitors.

" its looking like a trip towards the mid table for Us this Season. Unable to find that Defense that propelled us to the top three last Season, we have be porous on D. Distin has been awful, it may be time to seek another option."

Everton draws another match with visiting PSV, as both teams could not find a go ahead goal after J. McFaddens opening goal and PSV's Marcelo's reply in the first half. It was an exciting match in which T. Howard of Everton had to make a point blank save early and some miss opportunities from the home side ends the match with a well deserved share of the spoils.

".. a bit unlucky that near the end J. Rodwell's screamer of a shot was denied by the post and Cahill's point blank shot was off... it was a good match, we will look to make a better showing the next time around...the schedule has been brutal, and that loss to Blackburn early in the Season is starting to look very glaring indeed."

    Everton 3-2 SC Braga

Everton finds a way to win in Portugal, twice coming from behind to secure all three points. SC Braga strikes first as Lima was found streaking between defenders and slid a shot under a rushing T. Howard. L. Drenthe finds J. McFadden on the counter for the equalizer near half time to end the first half at 1-1. After a slight delay, Second half began with SC Braga capitalizing on a rare T. Howard mistake as he fails to clear the ball and SC Braga scores to lead 2-1. Saha rescues Everton as he nods in the equalizer and the go ahead goal as Everton finds their first league win of the Season against a very strong Braga squad, away.

"... we had some poor defending but we were lucky to get a good showing from L.Saha. Finally we found some scoring power, if the Defense keeps playing the way it is playing... the Season could be a long one. "

Everton finds a way to win with goals from Defender Coleman and T. Cahill. It was a game that Everton controlled until P. Jagielka fouled in the box and also getting sent off for his second Yellow. After that, Werder Bremen laid siege on Everton's side as they peppered T. Howard with shots on goal. Everton was lucky to walk away with 3 points.

    "very lucky... very lucky..."

Everton unable to Win the match outright at Ajax. A very good and tightly contested match, Everton draws first blood against Ajax as Cahill finds L.Saha on a cross for a 1-0 Lead. A Defensive substitution proved costly as Manager HokieNYC removed stalwart Defender Distin for Rodwell. J. Rodwell misses his assignment as a long thrum in finds an Ajax Defender open, and go by Rodwell for the Equalizing Goal.

".. it seems we can't hold on to leads the way we did last Season. I admit my decision to remove Distin proved disastrous ... "

Everton loses away to a very good Fulham side. Clint Dempsey beats his fellow American twice and that proved enough even with a goal for McFadden in the dying 45th minute. Second half was a tense battle that resulted in no goals as Fulham defends Home and walks away with 3 points.

" Tough loss, it would have started a good run, but unfortunately the other Team made less mistakes and in the end we paid for it..."

Everton were unable to protect the goal on corners, as Sau Paulo punishes the visiting side with goals in each half. After an inexplicable penalty call- which T. Howard saves, Sau Paolo doubles the lead in the next corner. Poor game play has found Everton mid table, half way through the Season.

"yech... that pretty much sums it up..."

Everton snatches a point from visiting side Aston Villa. Down 1-3 with 10 minutes left to play, Everton scores 2 goals, one from L.Saha and a header from T. Cahill in a 5 minute span to walk away with a draw.

blackburn takes the Series from Everton, as Cahill fails twice to find the back of the net with only the Goal keeper to Beat. It was a tense 10 minutes as Everton attacked the Blacburn goal, but the Homesides Defense proved too strong to give any ground.

"..it has been a disaster of a Season, our inability to score has us free falling in Serie A. Its looking like a Serie B drop as we still have Spartak and Aston Villa on the horizon.. two very tough managers."

Serie A heavy weight Aston villa muscles their way to victory as the speed of the Villains were too much for the Everton Defense. It was not a close match, as Everton were left in the wake of an Offensive display, that Everton were not ready to defend.

"... its been a crazy Season, A game that we should have been in, never happened. ...:"

It was a drubbing from the very beginning as Everton was unable to find the back of the net, twice hitting the post as Spartak Moscow takes it to the home side. Barely able to mount any offensive threat as Spartak Moscow laid siege on the Everton half. t was not a pretty match, as heavy favorites proved too much for Everton.

Everton share the spoils as both Teams play to a heated draw. Game was even keeled throughout the match, as great passing from Corintians found an open player who slotted the goal past T. Howard. L. Saha answers as he jukes his defender and curls in an equalizer,

Udinese takes the Season series from an inaccurate Everton as the Top of the Table, Udinese. Took advantage of the only Defensive lapse of the game from both teams, as Di Natale slots home the only goal of the match.

In a tightly contested match, Everton fights for its right to stay a top Serie A. After a disaster run of 3 defeats, Everton finds themselves in the rear at Serie A. It is now a game of survival, as the Everton hopefuls, pray they make it out of the last games against tough opponents to stay in the Premier Serie A.

Everton steals all three points in Germany, as L. Osman puts away a rebound in the 90th minute to give Everton a 2-1 Victory.

"..very lucky but we will take it...."

Everton takes the Season series from the Dutch side. As L. Saha's brace in the 2nd half of a restart proved too much for Ajax to over come. It was a tense 1st half - a mistake in the backfield in the 2nd half, as the lone Dutch defender lost the ball near the half line, proved costly as Drenthe raced down and finds L. Saha who manages to bungle the ball towards goal. If the first goal was lucky, the seconds was not as Drenth again finds L. Saha on a cross, and L. Saha controls and slots it past the rushing keeper.

Everton gets lambasted as they fail to protect the air in front of goal. Fulham proved too much as the Everton squad were unable to defend the crosses against Fulham.

The topsy turvy Season of Everton is coming to a close. A fantastic win against top class PSV Eidenhoven proves a good sign that Everton may yet still belong in Serie A. But with one game left against a potent Sau Paolo- it will be a nail biting end as Everton will need some help to stay in the top Serie for Season 5.

"... i do not know if I will be staying in Everton, I have several offers for the next Season and I will have to wait and see how everything falls into place. The new additions to Everton makes them a very promising squad, but it may be time for a change come the end of this very erratic season..."
