We did this last season in Serie A, so let's move it on down the ladder!

Please nominate ONE member of your own team for consideration as the Serie B MVP. Once each manager nominates a player, (process to be determined) will select the top 3 candidates. These candidates will then be put up for vote by each of you to determine the winner.

So post your most-deserving player here, include a picture and/or a brief summary of why we should vote for your guy.

EDIT: Two disclaimers - 1) The voting won't happen until everyone has nominated a player from their team and 2) Even if your team was terrible, you can still nominate a player from your team who you think is most deserving of the award. If you absolutely do not want to nominate a player, then post that in the thread.

    K. Doyle - WOLVERHAMPTON
    L. Podolski - FC KOLN
    O. Martins - RUBIN KAZAN
    S. Eto'o - A. MAKHACHKALA
    F. Miccoli - PALERMO
    Fans - NEWCASTLE
    n/a - OLYMPIAKOS
    n/a - HAMBURGER SV
    ? - SANTOS FC
    ? - STOKE CITY

    KEVIN DOYLE - WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Really the best player all year for the team that will win Serie B. Doyle is currently tied for 4th in the league in goals, 3rd in assists (still with a game to play). Can not imagine that any player has been more instrumental or scored more big goals than Doyle. Several game winners late. Very creative and can really score in all ways. Was instrumental in setting up teammate Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (just a 72 Ovr player) to a large tally of 17 goals (currently 3rd in Serie B).

Just overall, a well deserving MVP candidate for the team who earned automatic promotion.

"will edit with video of goal later

Lukas Podolski - 1. FC Köln

Leads the entire league in "points," if you will, with 34 (17 G, 17 A), including leading the league in assists by a staggering 7. Instrumental in making Novakovic a completely lethal striker, in fact, Podolski's brilliance has his much lesser-rated and regarded teammate atop the league in goals, while Lukas himself sits just behind atop the stats table.

Part of the "Two-Headed Monster" up top for Köln, coming off of a season in which he led Serie C in total points as well, and capable of a ridiculous strike from outside the box at any time, Podolski is by far my best player and deserves the Golden Ball

    Samuel Eto'o- Anzhi Makhachkala

Currently tied for 4th overall in goals scored (16), Eto'o accounted for basically 50% of the Anzhi's total goals for the season(33). Although Anzhi did not have the season they were hoping for, to say Samuel Eto'o wasn't the Most Valuable would be furthest from the truth. Eto'o always gave his team a chance to win and without him they may have not won any.

Rubin Kazan - ST Obafemi Martins
    [IMG]
Rubin striker Obafemi Martins is Kazan's player of the year this season. He led the team in goals with 16 (T-4th) and notched 10 assists, tied with teammate Haedo Valdez. Martins not only was the leading scorer for Rubin Kazan, he repeatedly would be targeted by the opposing teams to be one to stop, yet still managed top of the table statistics. Alongside N. Haedo Valdez, the tandem were one of the most threatening offensive duo's in Serie B, combining for 30 goals and 20 assists. Martins' speed, acceleration, and amazing shooting ability, helped vault Rubin Kazan manager Cimmy24 into a very possible promotion to Serie A.
Think about it, when YOU played Rubin...whose speed did you fear on the pitch?

Manager BESHIKTAS is nominating the great and loyal Newcastle Uniited fans as the man of the year. D.Ba with 10 goals and Ameobi with 9 goals were not enough to clinch a spot in Serie A. Due to an unsuccessful year manager BESHIKTAS will be leaving Newcastle United. BESHIKTAS wishes them the best in the next season.

Palermo will nominate F. Miccoli who scored 10 goals this season which tied him for 12th in the league. Not bad for a player on a team that only won 3 games this season.

    Neymar - Santos FC

Neymar is one of the fastest and better dribblers in all of TFS. His acceleration is unmatched. Got doubled and even tripled teamed most matches and yet was able to score 19 goals. Had at least a couple of Hat-Tricks. Scored 64% of Santos' total goals during the season.

    Stat Sheet

-19 goals (second in Serie B, 1 shy of the leading scorer)
-3 assists (but really set up a lot more goals to teammates than this stat shows with his incredible ability to get passed defenders)
    - MOTM for Santos in at least 85% of their matches

Look for him to come with revenge next season.

Sorry for getting this up later than the other two Series! Got caught up and completely forgot to post this so I apologize! Anyways, post who you think the ONE player on your team deserving of MVP candidacy should be! Write as much (or as little) as you want in order to show us all why your player deserves to be the Serie B MVP for Season 5!

This was an easy selection for my squad, Everton. However, anyone looking from the outside will go, huh? My MVP nomination is no other than Sylvain Distin. Distin was a straight up STUD on the back line for Everton. He didn't score one goal, but did post 1 assist. He DID stop countless scoring opportunities from opponents all year long. His combination of speed and strength provided an invaluable asset to this squad and he is the primary reason Everton is up for promotion. So before you call this a lame vote for MVP, remember Everton had the least amount of goals conceded in all of Serie B. A Goal prevented is just as important as a goal scored. Great job Sylain Distin!!!

I'd have to go with Jacob Elmander, my striker who was near the top of the scoring charts... I just can't nominate my stud keeper Muslera because I don't even think he had 1 clean sheet, but goodness me oh my, he stopped so many rockets.
