Dirty play in and around the box. Shocking Madrid didn't get more cards. Had a chance on a PK that got saved. Should have had another or two late in the game. Laggy game.

Yeah, there was one time that I was very surprised I didn't get called for a PK... perhaps they let it go because the first one was so weak? ;)

    Munich 2
    Inter 1

Robben swings in a cross, Gomez gets his head to it and puts it in the net in the 25th. Munich playing sloppy, but Neuer bails the team out a few times. Forlan heads in a cross in the 90th min. Game looks to be ending in a draw. However, Robben hits a through ball, Gomez runs onto it, and beats Ranocchia. Gomez is free on net with a charging Cesar. Gomez gets a shot off at the 18 as Cesar dives. The ball just makes it under Cesar and rolls into the net. Munic steal the victory.

This was probably the worst game I have played in a long time. Didn't deserve this win. Not getting on with Munich at all. Making me wish I stayed with Villarreal. Can't find a formation that works for me and the players just don't move the way Villarreal's do. Going to be a long season.

    M-Gomez 25th and 90th
    Assists to Robben x2

    I-Forlan 90th
    Assist to Milito

Yeah. I had most of the possession for the first 15 minutes but then your midfield just took control after the goal. I decided to just play defense and try to counter from that point on. We could do nothing else.

I was trying to be extremely patient this go around...but your defense was just stifling. Only had 3 real chances to level, couldn't pull it off.

That matches your team's home country. A true Italian, defensive performance. And to be honest you had a few chances at 2-nil as well.

    Barcelona (1) @ Inter (1)

    Barcelona:
:goal: 45' A. Sanchez :assist: David Villa

    Inter:
    :goal: 17' G. Pazzini (PK)
    :trophy:-GK-Julio Cesar (9.30)

    Barca--Inter
    1-GOAL-1
    16-SHOT-5
    10-SOT-4
    60-POSS-40
    11-TKL-13
    1-FOUL-2

--Julio Cesar and a questionable penalty call stop Barcelona from taking full points in this one. The Brazilian keeper repeatedly made routine and spectacular saves as Barca was force to shoot a lot from the edge of the box, a spot that they don't struggle to score from. The Barcelona defense did a good job getting back and not allowing the Italians counter attack behind them and keeping Inter's attacking players in front of them was the key to the game.

    1 Borussia Dortmund - AS Roma 0

    BVB
:goal: Gotze 70' - Free kick placed in top left corner.

    :trophy: Mario Gotze

A tight match in which BVB had the lion's share of possession, but couldn't put in a goal from the run of play. The deadlock was broken in the 70' following a foul 25 yards out from goal. Gotze showed his class tucking it into the corner away from the keeper.

Roma came out of their shell following the goal, finding numerous passing lanes that weren't available early in the match. Weidenfeller was forced into a number of saves late to maintain the 3 points.

GG kgx2thez Roma could've easily pulled level late but it wasn't to be. Looking forward to the return leg.

GG Merih. I thought the foul on Juan that led to your FK was a lil soft but I couldn't see the replay to get a second look. We were weary of you on the counter, especially with your quicker lineup considering Lewandowski started off on the bench. We didn't want to give you a chance at the counter running at my ancient CB, Juan.

    Week 1 Matchday 1

AS Roma (1) Bayer Leverkusen (2)

    Roma

    Goals:
    :goal:F. Totti (52')

    B04

    Goals:
    :goal:M. Ballack (66' PEN)
    :goal:A. Schürrle (74')
    :assist:M. Ballack

    MOTM::trophy:M. Ballack 9.5

First win of the season for the Bayer boys as all three goals scored were pretty sloppy. Totti somehow snuck a long shot past multiple defenders before slipping past a heavily screen Adler. A soft foul call drawn by Kießling put Ballack on the spot where he would drew the penalty and then Schurrle drills a ball in the lower far post corner for what was the eventual clincher. gg kgx2thez can't wait to welcome you to BayArena.

    Munich 3
    Leverkusen 0

Ribery finds Robben with a pass at the top of the 18. Robben creates some space between himself and the defender. Robben fires a low hard shot that just squeezes inside the post in the 17th min. In the 45th min Gomez chips a ball from the wing in to an undefended Robben who heads the ball by Adler for a 2-0 Munich lead before half. Robben returns the favor to Gomez in the 72nd min by crossing a ball into the box. Gomez unmarked, calmly volleys it home for a very safe 3-0 Munich lead. Game ends 3-0.

Leverkusen controlled the possession 56% to 44%. Shots were 13-9 to 2-2 in favor of Munich.

Would have said good game till I was accused of being a cheat. Pretty poor of JFace's part.

    M-Robben 17th and 45th, Gomez 72nd
    Assists to Gomez, Ribery, Robben

    Barcelona (1) @ Leverkusen (0)

    Barcelona:
:goal: 3' L. Messi :assist: Xavi

    Leverkusen:
    :yellowcard: 68' A. Shurrle
    :trophy:-GK-Ricky Adler (9.10)

    Barca--Leve
    1-GOAL-0
    11-SHOT-6
    7-SOT-4
    53-POSS-47
    25-TKL-10
    0-FOUL-2

--Xavi dropped the ball in perfectly behind the German side's defense early to a streaking Messi who finished in world class style curling the ball around the keeper and off the far post for the games only score. That is not to say that that was the only chance of the game as the home team continually pressured the backline and post of the visitor's. Victor Valdez came up with just enough big saves to keep this one in the victory column for his team.
