SC Braga started out their Serie A campaign as late newcomers to the league but backed by a manager with Serie A experience and used that to take 3 points in their debut. Braga set the tone early in the match when captain Alan found the net in the 11th minute off of a Mossoro pass into the box. Braga doubled their lead in the 28th minute when Alan turned assist man finding striker Lima for a short put in. Braga continued to control the tempo of the game, never allowing PSV to get into an offensive rhythm. Lima placed the exclamation point on the match when Braga counter attacked with Mossoro bulling his way into the box then chipping to an open Lima who finished the game

Fulham are in the win column early in the season with an ugly 2-0 victory over SC Braga. The scoring started early for Fulham when Danny Murphy stole the ball just outside of the defender's 18 and drove it into the upper left corner off of the post in just the seventh minute. Just twelve minutes later Bryan Ruiz put a cross into the box from the right wing. The cross bounced off of a Braga defender and the keeper before finding the back of the net thanks to Bobby Zamora's tap in. After the two early goals, Fulham changed to a more possession oriented approach controlling the game flow and inhibiting many attacking opportunities for Braga. Fulham are now 1-1-0 on the season and SC Braga fall to 1-1-0 as well. SC Braga has a 3-0 victory over PSV Eindhoven and Fulham lost to the same squad 1-0.

SC Braga took advantage of an early penalty opportunity and was able to hold off Ajax at home. Having dropped their last 5 games since beating PSV, Braga gets a much needed 3 points. The lone goal of the match was set up as captain Alan was able to dribble into the box off the wing and get off a shot attempt. Fortunately for Braga Alan was fouled on his shot attempt by Ajax defender Vertonghen. The official pointed to the spot and Alan converted to give Braga the lead. Ajax almost leveled the score late in the game but goalie Quim was able to push an attempted header wide. The game mirrored an exact score line between the two teams as they recently were pitted against each other in Cup play. GG IJGator

Good defensive game that was back and forth in the 2nd half. Wolves grabbed the league in the first half as Ebanks-Blake was able to slip past the Braga defense and slot a shot into the lower right corner. Braga used some good positioning on set piece to level the game in the 2nd half. Mahamat was able to chest home an attempted header and tap it in close range to bring Braga level. Braga almost won the game in the 90th minute as a Lima header hit the woodwork and the Wolves defense was able to clear the danger. GG CxMacx10

Late Goal Gives Bremen The Victory
That sound you hear is the sigh of relief coming from Werder's new coach following the club's first win in its 5th league game. It took a while, and the German club made it interesting in the rain in Portugal, but Claudio Pizarro came through for the club in the 85th minute to secure the victory. The goal capped off some lackluster performances from each team's offense, or perhaps it was simply great defending. Regardless, Bremen now has 4 points through 5 games, and while this season may be tough to win, there is still plenty of time for the team to show improvement.

Game was back and forth with Spartak Moscow controlling most of the game possession wise. The visitors got on the board first when Welliton dribbled through the Braga defense and was able to power home a low shot past Quim but not first between a Braga defenders legs. Braga took only 1 minute to level things as Lima was able to bury home a cross with a leaping header. Both teams then had close opportunities the rest of the game but were not able to capitalize leaving the game a draw.

Offensive Shootout Showcases 8 Goals and No Victors
With SC Braga battling relegation, and Bremen believing they are now safe, this game could have had major ramifications for both teams. Bremen started out the first 30 minutes looking as sharp as ever. Marko Marin and Mehmet Ekici each displayed skill with fantastic goals, and a flurry of other opportunities started to turn the game into a one-sided affair. "If we can play like that for 90 minutes, we would never lose." noted captain Clemens Fritz. "We just have to learn how to sustain that level of play." And they clearly are still learning. Lima single-handedly brought Braga back into the match, scoring once in the 38th and 48th minutes. But after tying up the match, Claudio Pizarro, Werder Bremen's leading scorer, received a beautiful pass from Marko Arnautovic in front of the net, and easily put Bremen back on top. Braga responded approimately 10 minutes later on a controversial call. Bremen LB Lukas Schmitz tackled a Braga attacker in the box, and the attacker immediately went down. The German side was calling emphatically for diving, but the replay showed that Schmitz did technically bring down the Braga player without ever playing the ball. Alan kicked the PK for Braga, and despite apparent mind-reader GK Tim Wiese guessing correctly, he dove too far and the ball creeped in behind his airborne feet, making it 3-3. Braga then grabbed their first lead of the game in 72nd minute, but Arnautovic answered back a minute later for Werder Bremen. Neither team could mount a final score, and the whistle blew with the defensive struggle offensive fireworks coming to a close, 4-4.

Both teams equal chances to score. The large advantage in posession kept SC Braga off the score sheet.
