NEWS: HokieNYC has relocated to France as he was shown the door by English Club Everton after a dismal Sophomore Season. Manager HokieNYC with a Career Record of 28-17-19 looks to re boot his Career at the Ligue 1 Club.

"... here is hoping last Season was just a blip and not a trend, but the competition is very stiff in Serie A this Season, and opening with CSKA Moscow is not an ideal situation running a new Club, but it is what it is...."

    Stades Rennes 2-2 CSKA Moscow

Rennes drops two points as they give up an equalizer in the dying minutes against power house visitors. A fortuitous bounce gave the home side a gift of a goal as the cross hits the cross bar and bounces in from of Hadji for the opening goal. Moscow equalizes but the home side answers quickly with a header. Leading 2-1 with less than ten minutes left to play, a power outage forced a 10 minute replay. Rennes were unable to stop Doumbia from equalizing and both teams walk away with a point.

    Stoke City 3-0 Stade Rennes

Stoke City locks down Stade Rennes as the Homeside cranked up the Defense and bunkered down and took their chances off crosses with their lanky giant Peter Crouch. The Rennes Defense were unable to Defend the air attack in the first half, and could not answer with goals of their own as they peppered Stoke City from outside the box with 18 shots on goal but were unable to beat Man of The Match Keeper Sorensen.

"...for the first time in this series I was out coached by that SOB BigOx... "

Wolverhampton beats the Rennes home side 2-0 and Rennes are unable to answer the two early goals given up by the Rennes Defense within the first 15 minutes of the match.

    Stades Rennes 2-3 Spartak Moscow

Rennes drops their first home match as visiting Spartak out scored the home side 3-2. The match was an exciting one, and with a Man of The match performance from Spartak's Number 1, Rennes were unable to overtake the potent offense of Spartak as the home side played catch up the whole affair. Montano's brace was not enough as the visiting side walk away with three points.

" we did everything we could, but stellar keeping from the visiting side, was too much for us to over come..."

    Sunderland 3-1 Stades Rennes

Stades Rennes loses another match in the end, as the home side find a goal from a poorly played save from Costil. The rebound finds Sessenon and he slots away the go ahead. Two minutes later the home side put away the game with a third goal and keep all three points from the hapless visitors.

Hearbreaking loss for the visiting side as Koln scored a header off the corner in the dying minutes of the match. It was a defensive battle as both teams could not find the back of the net. The Homeside finally beat Costil as the smaller Rennes squad could not defend the set piece. It is an ominous start for Rennes as the only get 1 point out of a possible twelve in the first 4 matches of the Season.

" ... I think its going to be a long Season.."

    NEWS:

Stade Rennes Manager is finding that Life in France is tougher than expected. Still winless after playing 5 matches in all Competition. The Rennes Squad has been short - The Season can just easily be 3-0-1 as Rennes has been able to keep matches close after the disastrous 3-0 drubbing against Stoke City. Manager HokieNYC is starting to feel the pressure as the awful starts now puts Stade Rennes in a poor position to challenge for any honors 4 game into the Season. While the Squad has show some glimmer of brilliance, holding 3 Time Serie A Champions to a draw, losing to Serie A Runner Up Friz by a goal in the dying minutes and losing 1-0 to Serie B Powerhouse Koln in the 83rd minute- the Poor Record is not indicative of Rennes potential.

A draw in the Copa was also unexpected as Manager HokieNYC has an impressive record against his brother Hokie79 - but it seems the Football Gods are not favoring the Men in Red. Will there be a quick turn around in the next series of Matches, or should we start booking rooms for Serie B? Who knows?

It has been a disastrous start for the Rennes squad as Manager HokieNYC seem incapable of handling the bigger more physical teams in Serie A. Renne's speed has been no match for the more physical squads as Teams have bunkered down on Defense preventing the Rennes Speedster from taking advantage of their speed.

With no clear cut goal scorer and poor form, it is looking like a Serie B drop for Manager HokieNYC.

"... It has been a rough Start, no doubt, but the Sharks of Serie A are behind us- we can now focus on winning and stealing points from the Rest of the league...it seems, it will now just be a fight to stay in Serie A and hopefully live to fight next Season. As of now, cannot seem to find any way of scoring..."

    Stade Rennes 2-1 Fiorentina

Stades Rennes makes it 3 in a row in a make up match against the visiting side Fiorentina. Hadji opens up the scoring as Montano manages to slide the ball through three defenders to find Hadji who finishes his opportunity with a slotted shot into the lower right corned. Jovetic answers for the visiting side, with a beautiful spot kick that Costil had no chance in saving. Montano takes all three points, as Pitropia manages to turn the corner before he loses the ball to Montano, who surprises Boruc with a quick shot. Fiorentina lays siege as the Homeside buckles up the Defense and hold on for three valuable points.

Stade Rennes shares the spoils with Werder Bremen in Germany. A defensive lapse on both Teams allowed for the goals as C. Pizarro dances around the hapless Defenders and scores early in the match. Rennes answers with their speed as Werder Bremen is caught too high up the line and it broke free V. Montano who released the speedy Ekoko for a 1v1 against MOM Weise. GG Bronco... See you in France.

    TSG Hoffenheim 1-3 Stades Rennes

Rennes gets their first Win of the Season near the half way mark, as they take all three points from middle of the table Hoffenheim. The match was well in hand after Montano finds a streaking Pitropia and in a foot race no one on Hoffenheim's squad could catch the speedster as he finds himself one on one against the keeper, Petropia blast on into the top corner in the 19th minute. Twenty minutes later Montano was found streaking by Petropia and he dances his way into the box and slides one under the keeper to make it a 2-0 leads. Rennes closes the door on the homeside, as Hadji loses his defender and finds a wide open Montano. Starke was able to stop the first shot but the rebound returns to Montano who heads in the final Rennes goal. Hoffenheim finds a consolation goal as sub, Mlapa scores in the 90th minute.

This match up has not been kind to Manager HokieNYC as he finds himself ending the 1sy half of the Season against a Manager Zikry. Aston Villa has not been able to prove their form this Season, but has the teeth to challenge in any match. Once again Rennes enters the match a sever underdog against a very physical squad. Salvaging the Season with a win could be a sign of good things to come, but Rennes has had difficulty against the English Teams throughout the Season.

    Stades Rennes 1-0 Stoke City

Stades Rennes grabs first Home win, as they beat Stoke City 1-0 . The match was a tightly defended affair, a poor clearance from Stoke City found Y. M'Villa with a look at goal, and he curls the only goal of the match into the top right corner of the goal.

The Match was without controversy, as Stoke City was awarded a Penalty Kick in the 90th minute by the referee for a questionable foul on K Jones on the far side of the box. Costil, the French keeper found himself on the right side of net as he was able to parry away the tie goal, and keep all 3 points for the homeside.

    (A) CSKA Moscow 1-2 Stades Rennes

Stade Rennes ends a dismal showing by winning their first match against CSKA Moscow. A defensive battle for Rennes who scored early with a header from Hadjii. A second goal from Feret gave the visiting side a 2-0 edge but with a few minutes left Doumbia scores to make the end of the match tense for the underdogs. But Rennes holds on to take three points from the Serie A defending Champions.

A poor defensive showing sinks Rennes against the homeside Spartak. Poor Keeping from Costil allowed 2 goals from outside the box - and the game out of reach for Rennes.

Different setting, same results as Rennes finds it difficult to match up with the more physical English Teams.

    (H) Stades Rennes vs Sunderland

    PREVIEW:

In a match that has proven difficult for Manager HokieNYC. Rennes faces another Physical English club in Sunderland. Rennes has found it difficult to find goals against English Teams this season- going 1-2-5 in all competition against the EPL. Will the trend prove too much for Rennes to overturn? Last match was close till the end when Sunderland manages to score two goals in the end of the match to effectively take the win from Rennes.

It looks like Rennes is heading to Serie B, as a poor showing against a must win situation cost the away side 3 vital points. Two goals in 10 minutes from the homeside was enough to see Fiorentina through. Shooting an abysmal percentage- Rennes were unable to answer back against Fiorentina. The match was critical in Rennes relegation battle and with the loss- Rennes looks headed for the second division next season.

Stade Rennes wins at Home against Top of the Table FC Koln, proving what a crazy Season Rennes is having. A cagey affair with Rennes controlling most of the match and Koln only managing 3 shots on goal. Rennes walks away with a much needed victory as they continue to climb out of the relegation danger zone.
