A lot of passing, a lot of dancing, and not a lot of shooting and scoring. Things picked up in the second half when Neymar made a 40 yard run down the sideline, flying past the Mexican defense. He crossed a ball into the box that was headed several times before it finally found the head of Pato, over a Mexican defender, and into the net. The late goal forced Mexico to dial up some pressure to score an equalizer, and they were able to do just that in the 84th minute. Giovani dos Santos found a loose ball in the box and was able to bury it into the back of the net. With the game knotted up in stoppage time, Mexico finally caught a break from the Brazilian defense. Torres Nilo made a run down the sideline and drew the defense a little too wide, which opened up a passing lane for Herrera deep inside the box. Herrera stepped away from the net, causing a charging Brazilian defender to wrecklessly slide out of position and gave Herrera an open path to the goal. Herrera pushed it right past the keeper, and gave Mexico a much-needed 2-1 victory. GG Go Devils
I thoroughly enjoyed 2/3 of this game. Last 20 minutes into stoppage I just fell apart. I clearly can't handle pressure as it's been proven to me time and time again. Would love to have seen a replay of the dos Santos goal. I shit the bed on that one backed up to my goal. This is why I'm destined to fail in this league. If I'm pressed up to my 18 yard box I'll blow even a 4 goal lead with one of the best squads in the game. Whataya gonna do. I guess it's back to drinking. Should have never of gotten back on the horse in the first place. Go get 'em bbrech0610... this rant isn't meant at all to piss into the wind blowing in your direction. I'm just on a shitty streak and you closed this game out.
No problem, my friend. The equalizer was certainly fortunate. I didn't do much to deserve it and had some good fortune on my side. Some words of advice, since I can tell you are frustrated: Have you tried to just start clearing everything with the square button down the middle of the field? Get rid of the ball before you make a mistake, and particularly with your Brazil squad, you have so much more speed and skilled players than the opposition that a lot of times your players will track the ball down anyway. I know a lot of guys want to hold possession down the stretch but your defense was so packed in that it was hard to break down if I had to start an attack from the other end of the field. Hang in there. You're a good guy and a great league member and I hope you get out of that shitty streak soon.
