Important information coming soon...
Couldn't find the gif. I failed for the day. Have to be better.
The F16 World Cup cycle will begin in earnest tomorrow, when we open the Heritage Team Claims process. Information and instructions are in that thread. The next week, (11/11) we will release the World Cup draft order, as determined by Broncos218 set of metrics based on past results. A week later (11/18) the draft will commence. The first pair of qualifiers are scheduled to be played 12/16, a week before Christmas.
As many of you know, this is a 32-team tournament. The 4 people who sit out serve as cover for drops during the cycle. As the newest members of the league, Llad72 shootah66 and Macri will take 3 of those places. Jugster has volunteered to be the 4th
KnightNoles wSeals9 and Zikry have earned the right to keep their teams from last season as the top 3 finishers in the F15 World Cup if they so choose (just let us know before the draft starts). Everyone else has been fired from their national team duties, and must select a different team in the upcoming draft.
Finish last, draft first. Repeat.
Jugster can take the place of Llad72
Did you hear that Jugs? You're out!
RedAL925 so if im reading that correctly, im out of this tourny?
Yes. The 4 of you will start on reserve in case someone drops out of the league

Well screw you too Uruguay!!!
did I miss sign ups for WC? i dont recall replying to anything...but I want to play if its not too late
The (F16) TSL World Cup draft order will be released later today. The actual draft process will not start until next Wednesday (11/18).
For the sake of comparison, here is last cycle's draft order and results:
REMINDER - You cannot select the same team this time as you did last time, unless you have submitted a Heritage Claim or finished in the top 3 last cycle.
World Cup Schedule
November 18: TSL World Cup Draft
December 16-23: Qualification Matchdays 1 & 2
March 2-9: Qualification Matchdays 3 & 4
May 18-25: Qualification Matchdays 5 & 6
August 3-31: World Cup Finals
Remember that these Qualification windows fall in between TSL seasons, not during as they were last cycle.
There are 3 regions of qualification: European (16 Teams), Africa/Asia (8 Teams), and Americas (8 Teams). Once the allotment of teams has been reached, managers will no longer be able to select teams from that region. Because Africa/Asia is less than strong, 5 European teams have been moved there to compensate. Those nations are Turkey, Russia, Sweden, Norway and Finland.
All of the top finishers from last season have decided to keep their teams:
KnightNoles - Czech Republic
wSeals9 - Cote d'Ivoire
Zikry - Egypt
The following Heritage Claims have been approved:
BESHIKTAS - Turkey
dave okeeffe - Ireland
Feverpitch57 - Argentina
BigBeansMcGee - England
Lou - Italy
guayo10 - Brazil
That said, here are the regions pre-draft (teams in gray = unlicensed):
The qualification group stage draw will take place Tuesday, November 24th in the form of another podcast. Details (including air time) to be determined. If you would like to participate contact ASinghal31 rschwep and Broncos218
Id like to play in the tournament if there is an available spot
World Cup Qualification group stage draw in just over 30 minutes!!!
Jugster will take over as Argentina, and Calhockey10 will take Peru instead of Canada. abolishthefed go ahead and wipe the old results from the sheet. Jugs and Cal, you are free to play your first two games as soon as possible.
Well well well. Jugs played his cards correctly.
Also Jugster we can play this weekend.
For those already eliminated or facing elimination- if someone above you drops from TSL before that start of the World Cup in a few months, you will have a chance to sneak in. And I'll be cleaning up the WC rules shortly to exapnd on other details, such as what happends when 3 teams from a group drop out (basically best 3rd-place team from other group within same region would qualify).
In other words, for those that think they have nothing to play for, it might be wise to still give it your all this week in hopes of still making the WC cut!
A few rule reminders as World Cup play has now begun...
Just like in the TSL Cup (and real-life WC), the number of yellow cards a player has resets to 0 following the Quarterfinals. This ensures that a player will only miss the Final if he were to receive a red card in the Semifinals.
Group tiebreakers will follow the same procedures as the TSL Cup (H2H first, then group GD). There are no goal limits in group play!
Unlike the TSL Cup, if a knockout match remains tied after 90 minutes, proceed immediately to a golden goal match (not a full second leg). You MUST begin the golden goal match with the same players/subs you ended with the previous game.
And post your top goals here!
Separate names with a comma.
