pa give me a second to go over your rules tonight...and we would be taking over new teams correct? and am I correct in saying that the teams that are returning get to keep players from their teams only? Would the two new teams then do a "supplimental draft of the players thrown back into the player pool with last years dollar value?
You would have new teams with the full $260 to spend on the auction draft. The existing teams currently have full rosters, but only get to keep 5 before they are thrown back in the draft pool. The salaries of the players they keep are deducted from their $260. Players who are not kept are in the auction draft and have no "set" value. Whatever the winning bid is wins the player. Could be $1 could be $50.
no I get the auction keeper idea what I mean is that the two new teams are kind of like expansion teams in the fact that they do not have rosters as of yet and like a year where expansions teams come in the current teams protect members of their 40 man roster and the unprotected players go into a draft of sorts for the expansion teams. We let the current teams keep their 5 men each and the rest of the player pool goes into a draft for the 2 new members (team a and team b) who would then have a 5 round snake draft to select 5 players each from the pool of unprotected players. Those players would keep the value of the previous year that way the expansion teams would have a shot at some deals like the teams that are currently in the league. It only seems fair since the new teams start at a disadvantage from current teams.
Basically what happens is you guys just have to start your team from scratch in the draft. It's not ideal but that's the breaks. Correct me if I'm wrong PAgamer.
I like the idea, but I really am not sure when I would have the time to coordinate this. Keepers will lock 1 week ahead of the draft. So that only gives one week to do the supplemental draft and fix the two expansion teams rosters. Given the software available on ESPN, I am not sure how easy or hard it would be, but to be honest, it's not something I want to do from a time stand point. If we expand, the only benefit to the two new teams is a higher auction budget.
I'm sorry but thats a huge disadvantage my .02$ really you are only talking about 2 teams drafting 10 players you have the teams up it would take the time of only the two expansion owners to do the draft you could set it up so that the players taken in the draft cannot be bid on and when its team a and team bs turn to nominate during our auction draft they nominate one of their 5 players put in a bid of there previous year price no one else bids on the guys and their you have it simple I think
Not sure if it's the lack of punctuation or my own stupidity but I am not following your concept here. I def think we would be at a disadvantage here so I am having second thoughts. But again I am an idiot so maybe I am just not following the details......So if I understand we are keeping the teams that lost owners , and we get to keep the 5 keepers & then auction draft with the rest of the league right Pagamer07 ?
Wait, so we can keep guy's that we picked up during the season last season and they only cost us 1$.. That doesn't really seem fair. I thought the whole point of keepers is that they needed to be on our roster all season.
