This game needs patching immediately! I'm so tired of losing the lie, strike, wind, and arrow indicators every other hole. I blame EA for my +11 in rnd 1

It is so weird how so many people have that problem and other don't. I haven't had that problem at all. I finished round 4 at -3 for a total score of -15. I'm pretty happy with that for my first event. It stinks that some of you are struggling so much. When you can play it consistently (not necessarily good, but consistent enough to par most holes), it is so rewarding and frustrating and fun just like real golf.

This pretty much sums up my feelings for the short time I've had with the game. I've played it year round for 7 years and this the first time I'm not on autopilot. I have to take my time on every single shot and play super conservatively and patiently. Rewarding is awesome!

Really ? After a week of negotiating rules, you sabotage yourself with a crappy golfer and giving up ?

Im not going to beg anyone to stay and play. If you dont like it you dont like it. We are all adults and we only have so much time to put into something for fun.

But I've seen a lot if this and it completely baffles me. At least give it a chance. What some of you guys are doing is like taking Colchester United vs Barsa on all-star in FIFA,without any previous experience and proclaiming game is too hard to be enjoyable.

Well, I got off to a great start with an -8 for the first round. The highlights for that first round included a chip in from behind the green on #1 for birdie, and a 28 ft Eagle on #13.

So, I'm feeling pretty good about the round, and I decide to go ahead and immediately play round 2. Round 2 was a struggle from the get go, and I have no idea what was going on. All of a sudden all of my shots were hooking left, even when the shot meter looked good (or at least good enough), and even with the wind blowing to the right. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me. I had to scramble on just about every hole. Par'ed everything until my first birdie at #7 to go -1. Next hole, par 3, 8th, again my shot snaps to the left when it appeared to be a good swing. The ball lands on the back part of the green, leaving me with a nasty 60ft downhill putt, and I drained it to go -2.

On the Back 9, it was much of the same, but I fought my way to -6 heading to #18. Tee shot finally finds the fairway but with the wind in my face, I'm laying up. Again, laid up with a 6 iron and it goes left into the rough. I'm 112 yds out with a 3 mph wind in my face. I played the shot for 127 yds. Took a couple practice swings, put the marker in the middle of the ball and swung.. and it doesn't even carry the water. It hits the face of the hill and rolls back into the pond. I couldn't believe it came up that short. Anyways I ended up with a double bogey and finished -4 for the round and probably took myself out of the tournament. Not too happy about that, so I'll finish the tournament tomorrow before the Masters Par 3 contest comes on.

But for the most part, I'm with Vlad. I love these settings. I love the realism. I just can't figure the swing out yet lol. Seems inconsistent sometimes, but maybe it's just me.

    LOL Struggle = -4 -> Tiger Dog1980

I love the game for the fact you don't go on Auto Pilot as Vlad well said. Don't care how difficult it gets, I love a challenge, I love adversity and it sure makes me feel that I am playing golf (not because I gotta hit a draw all the time, that's just there to make the game more difficult. And even if you guys don't like it, most real pros don't actually hit straight shots) cause I gotta stop for a sec and start thinking about what I am gonna do or what I am doing wrong! and after a couple of bad shots (and when it gets worse), I gotta hit the range to work on my swing. I do all that in real life and even the best golfers in the world do it all the time.

I am sad that you guys are not enjoying it, but as Vlad said we cannot beg you to stay. Hopefully you will take your time to keep learning the best way for you to take your shots (for example, after a lot of practice I figured out the best way for me to have best performance with my swing. To get to that point I have spent about an 1 hour n the range, looking at my fingers, checking the swing path, changing the position of where I was sitting, the way I was sitting, etc etc, fade shots, draw shots). I am pretty sure its just simple as taking the time to learn the game (how to control the fading marker, its hard. But if you practice and actually try to learn the way it works. It gets better! Same with putting, you gotta be careful in there not to over swing or underswing! Look how far you go by looking at your shoes or other things).

And btw, I am not even good at all :D. Just trying to help out from all the comments I ve seen from the good players. There are some good tips out there! Have you guys tried adding more draw or fade to your shots? For some people its easier than with the default amount. Have you guys taken a couple of practice swings before taking your shots (we all do it in real life)? This last one has actually helped even the best players in here (ren for example, he is really good! And the other day we were talking about the practice swing... he gave it a shot and he said it was helping him out).

Anyways, hope everyone stays! Hope some of you will find more people to play with us (I have done my best to get new people. And maybe in the next couple of days we will all enjoy this great game :D.

These posts made for interesting reading at the airport. lol. I am totally with Vlad in that its the first year where you can't switch off during your round & any loose shots are actually punished.

I'm a bit gutted i have to fly out and miss the rest of this weeks tourney, but I am excited for the weeks ahead. This is undoubtedly the best Tiger Woods to date and the tour setup is spot on.

Enjoy the rest of this weeks tourney and of course the Masters. Come on Poulter, Rose, Scott & Garcia!

You should be happy I haven't mentioned the Ryder Cup yet chaps.... ;) haha.

Yeah! I think we could come up with an European team. I have noticed we have a couple of international golfers in here :D. Where are you from? I am assuming somewhere in Europe :p.

P.S. I am going to Zürich next week :)

Is anyone interested in shooting the last round with me today? I'll be free after 5:30pm EST. I generally like to earlier in the evening but if someone wants to play later thats fine too.

Well fellas, I can truly say stick with it. I was not doing well for the longest time, but I have been trying to learn from the mistakes I am making. I may not be as good as Dub or Boil or Vlad, but I have made huge improvements over last year. I think I'm +2 for the first two rounds. Last year I think I was +20 or something and couldn't stand it. But, I decided not to chase an unattainable goal of beating those with killer scores, but of just getting better than the round I played before. Now, I can say that I'm a much more consistent golfer and that is what matters to me. Oh, and FUN of course!!!

You can take of this list lol. This tournament is the best I've played, plus Torrey is not that hard of course in TW.
On full simulation I've played 31 rounds ( well not counting 5 or 6 I restarted :) ) and I've shot under par in 7 rounds, all of them recently.
    My average score is 74.6
    My best score is 67
In 5 rounds in Muirfield my best score is 77 and my worst 89

I think my little breakthrough was switching to control golfer and trying to play for par on every hole.

First of all, I want thank you guys for welcoming me into your community. I've only been here for a few days and I'm already loving it. It's nice to know that there are a lot of gamers out there that like to play the same way I do.

I've played three rounds so for a score of -20:

    R1: -7

It was a very good all around day. I left my approaches in good spots and I was hot with the putter. My short game served me well as I was able to get up and down whenever I missed a green.

    R2: -9

One of my best rounds. My distance control with my irons was spot on and I gave myself very short looks at birdie. I took advantage of all the par 5s, going -4 on them for the day. My putter was sizzling even more than the first day as I made some lengthy putts. I also made one clutch up and down from 200 yards to save par after my second shot hit the lip of the fairway bunker.

    R3: -4

Not a very good ball striking day. I only hit 4 fairways and was not able to give myself very many decent looks at birdie. My putter also cooled down as I missed a 5 foot par putt for my lone bogey of the tournament. Did close with two straight birdies to keep some momentum going into the final round.

I need to go hit the range and practice my tee shots a bit before the final round because in the 3rd round. they were not pretty :sour:

i just wish we could see the fairway when we are hitting off the tee. i can't tell if there are bunkers, if there is a dogleg, how wide the fairway is , if fairway runs out, is there a creek runin across the fairway etc... same with the green in some aspects.

You may wanna use the flyby option - sometimes even for the approach shot so you could see where the flagstick is located on the green.
I also played some practice rounds (the first one with Mulligans) and wrote down the most important Bunkers etc. for the tee-shots.

I wouldn't say I'm getting better in doing so - but that lies only in the fact that I've lost my swing in the last couple of days.

I've started my practice rounds with -4.
In my latest practice round (today) I shot +3.

Well - Tomorrow is Thursday. So I will start with my "real" rounds that will count.
