Same here! What about the leader on PS3? The Xbox leader has -5. I have finished -2 and (my last 4 holes saved me) 8th for the tournament but I am pretty I wont stay there long . Surprised to see birddog with a +2 in that tournament :O!

We need the option to hit out of the tree if that happens IMO.

Just finished up my last round so I'm -22 for the tournament. My rounds were -6, -6, -3, and -7. I liked this course alot but I'm lookin forward to the others to see how they play. I really liked these greens because they seemed to mostly have gentle curves with the exception of a few holes. I played at Pinehurst No. 2 Restored and those greens seemed very difficult to me compared to this course.

Umm... I sucked. That is all. Can't make a putt to save my life.

My 3rd and 4th rounds, especially the 3rd, was like a carnival ride......

I think i hit prob 15 gir but I couldn't hit a putt to save my life in the third round and ended at -2, luckily I got hot on the back 9 in my fourth round though. Had jus a silly bogey though, missed a 5 footer for par, then missed another easy putt on 18 for bird so I ended at -7 for round 4. Puts me at -23 in the clubhouse. How are things looking on the Xbox side?

I've had all sorts of trouble on front 9, hit OB on 1st and 2nd round. I think I'm even par on front 9 in my first 3 rounds but I've destroyed the course on back 9, strange...

so what kind of cheat is everyone using? A custom device to hit advanced shot shaping straight? The left thumb technique? I'm not finding this '14 version fun. More fustrating and too long to play a round. 1hr 15min to to play 18 and twister with your fingers is crazy.

Wish I did have a magic answer to share with you so that you could have fun. I've just played simulation difficulty since day 1 and I had the first week off of work so I played constantly. It would be nice if we could somehow watch each other play. Are you mostly having trouble hitting straight or judging wind or distance control or putting or all of the above? I've developed little tricks for most of those things but they are mental, not anything with the controller. For example, I always push the club to max distance, then adjust my lie front or back to control distance. I always check if the lie is above or below my feet and adjust for it. When I chip downhill, I always aim 1 or 2 yards past halfway there, then overswing slightly. If I chip uphill, I always push the ball max forward in my stance and aim 3 yards short of the hole. I'm sure everyone has different tricks, but these little things help me tremendously.

Diagonal swing with small draw and a control golfer is not this hard. I'm no going to give myself lots of 5 footers for birdie, an i wont be in 2 on most of the par 5s, but I'm not gonna get myself in trouble and score 8 on a hole.
My putting is also very good. I know the speed and breaks for most part so I rarely 3 put even if I don't make a lot from 15 + ft.
Combine this with staying patient ( not gonna go for a flag if I can end up in bunker) and KNOWING the layout works out pretty good for me

An hour and 15 minutes to play a round?!?!?!? I don't think I've ever went over 30 minutes for any round.

are you on auto pilot?

Best way to practise is to make practise swings and learn how to hit the diagonal swing perfectly. Don't worry about your tempo, just hit those "corners" perfectly. You have to find your own style how to hit that "5-11" or "7-1" o'clock stroke accurately.

I sometimes find it easier to hit my fade when I open my stance bit more so I have to swing more diagonally, that almost straight "5-11" swing is bit touchy at times. And you don't have to use the normal "both thumbs on sticks" kind of grip with your controller. For example you can rotate your controller to the side so your controller is diagonally in your hands and you are making straight south-north movement with the analog stick.

Lucky finish for me, I holed an eagle from 62 yards on 72nd hole. Torrey Pines isn't the most difficult course out there, without wind its actually pretty easy. Managed to find OB for third time in tournament but otherwise played really well...

66-65-63-63 is my score, -31 total.

I was able to join the CC earlier using the link on the first page. I knocked out my first round this morning. I'll probably be waiting until tomorrow morning to finish it up.
