Julius was ruined by BP. He will always be one of my favs, because when the boys came up to seattle i was there talking thrash telling all the seahawk fans that he was going to run all over them and then he proceeded to go for 200 backing up my talk..

Barry was a human highlight reel....against crappy teams. They never show the highlights where he runs backwards, loses yards, and sticks his QB in 2nd and longs time after time.

Then he'd bail them out on 3rd and long...
Imagine if he was on a good team...

Cause lets be honest, Emmitt Smith wouldve been terrible on most any other team. Yet he gets allllll this praise... he wasnt that good. But his numbers will say otherwise.

Look at the names on this list....how old are you guys?
Here's my favorite RBs...not necessarily the greatest of all-time.

    1. Fred Taylor
    2. Warrick Dunn
    3. Barry Sanders
    4. Ricky Williams
    5. Maurice Clarett (yes his 1 year in college was that good performance wise)
*Mike Alstott definitely belongs ^ but I consider him a fullback

lol @ the barry hate. Dont fool yourselves. He had the worst Oline in the league, behind emmits line he would have rushed for a gillion yards. He would have broke smiths record with ease even in shitty detroit

    My FAVORITE Running backs:

    1. Eddie George (Post-OSU)
    2. Johnny Johnson (Loved him on Tecmo Bowl)
    3. Chris Johnson
    4. Barry Sanders (my personal pick for best ever, just not my favorite but i loved watching him play)
    5. Bo Jackson

Barry is my Michael Jordan. I wasn't a Bulls fan in either direction but i loved watching him play. (Kinda like how i was feeling bout LeBron before he bailed to Miami)

Thanks, I just crapped myself. A good year for Maurice isn't getting arrested. Barry's Heisman year in '88 is a good year:) Considered by many the GREATEST single season performance EVER.

I'm 25 so speaking from what I've seen, rather great, average, or just fun to watch. I'm partial to backs who just run through people.

    In no order.

    Barry Sanders
    Eddie George
Ricky "Running" Watters (I'm biased to my Raider/49er nation)
Craig "Iron Head" Heyward (I live in Augusta so Falcons come on every sunday)
    Jerome "The Bus" Bettis

I actually have a #13 Ohio State Maurice Clarett jersey. I still wear it sometimes.

Since I work a lot with cards....
Top Running backs for Football Card Collectors
    1. Emmitt Smith
    2. everyone else

    Top RBs for the 2000s
    1. LaDainian
    2. Tiki Barber
    3. Marshall Faulk
    4. Priest Holmes
    5. Shaun Alexander

Top RBs for 2012 (next year) - fantasy football prediction
    1. Darren McFadden
    2. Adrian Peterson
    3. LeSean McCoy
    4. Chris Johnson
    5. Ray Rice

I don't feel comfortable ranking the top 5 in history, Nor do I really have 5 running backs that I consider my favorite. All of my Chiefs running backs have sort of let me down...

Before Priest - Kimble Anders, Barry Word, Tony Richardson, Greg Hill - these were our backs after Okoye until Priest
Priest Holmes - teased us but didn't give us a very long career.
Larry Johnson - looked amazing for a couple years, then hit some bitches and became a bitch
Jamaal Charles - was on the verge of greatness this year before tearing his ACL

You can throw Marcus Allen in here, but he didn't really have a large impact. Although he was great at finding the endzone inside the 5.

As for top all-time. Adrian Peterson vs Barry Sanders vs Walter Payton vs Jim Brown just isn't an argument that I have enough information to debate on. Those 4 would probably crack my top 5 though.

And he was running backwards why? Because his OLine sucked... come on people think before you post silly arguments. :)
