Definitely agree here. I really want Diaby to put his stamp on the league this season. He is one of the most dominant forces in the league physically--6'4 monster with twinkle toes and a desire to beat markers 1 v 1. If he work on his decision making and learn improve his chemisty with Song and Cesc, our midfield will be very hard to contain.
Missed that move over the weekend. I don't see him getting a ton more playing time with Juve--make a break season for Diego over there.
Diego is already broke. Its an ongoing saga, he doesnt really wanne be there, they dont really want him. But nobody has met the value they want. AA moved becuase Roy said their was no 1st team football for him there this year. (uhh what?) So its a loan deal with a option to make it stick at the end of the year. Hes good when healthy. Hell go back to Juve, have fun in the homeland, light it up, and never see the field in Anfield again. Also, 6.5 Mil for a 30 year old french defender who was never the stand out on his own team....Yup, sounds about right for AW. Hell fight for the number 3/4 CB spot. And i never got the impression anyone was mad at Gallas cuz they saw him do it at Chelski before Arsenal....
Either way, Diego has to show out this year in order to secure a deal to another big level club. Even though he wants out, I doubt he wants to fall to a mid-tier club and that is where he would be headed most likely based on last year form. I've seen some mercrurial performances out of Diego--I believe he has the talent to be outstanding in the right setup. I believe Arsenal ended up paying in the 5.5 mil range for Squillaci which is is huge in my opinion. He is a hardman, French International, and multiple-time title winner with Lyon. He will battle for Koscielny for the 2/3rd CB roll and my guess is he plays a little more than Kosc early in the season. We still have Djourou and even Song to fill in during emergency situations. I'm very happy with that move.
i didn't hear that about Aqualani ... so forget what i said lol. really has a $20 million transfer ever been given less of a chance?
Diego = Playing for mid level clubs in Germany The Squillaci thing, hey not my team, just curious....So is this it for Djourou? That just puts him down the order. And with Norviedt(sp?) and Bartley waiting....that cant be good for him right?
I don't think so to be honest but it all depends on his health. He has been out for 15 months so I don't expect him to truly hit stride unless he can make it to the January window in one piece. If so, I think he's got a tremendous skillset to go along with a monster frame. He is a player -- just needs to get it together health wise.
btw a few soccer sites I visit for anybody interested ... http://www.epltalk.com/ http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/blog/dirty-tackle http://www.zonalmarking.net/ http://www.studs-up.com/ http://www.theoffside.com/
Zonal Marking is by far my favorite footballing site. I don't always agree with him, but the guy offers some fascinating analysis along with visual boards.
Anyone been following Operation Sports and see the slew of new FIFA 11 videos that have been posted as of late? The gameplay looks great and I am really pumped for this release. Looking forward to getting into something competitive here with the TF community.
I agree... the videos look great. I can't wait to get my touch back in that game. I am not great as an online player, but I would really like to be apart of a league here at TF. Hopefully they have some sort of online league options, otherwise maybe we could put together our own version of a champions league? Anyone up for that?
Take a look here, I'm pretty confident the folks here at TF will put something good together... http://www.traditionfootball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32318 I'm not that great either, but I have fun trying. Hit me up on XBL when the game drops and we can hit the pitch together.
Two weeks to go! I'm ready... I'm hoping for some sort of online MM feature although I know PES is going to have a better online franchise. Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
Here is some new Club news... hopefully TF will have a strong side http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/blogs/offthebench/post/slug/pro-clubs-in-fifa-11
so the creation center is up and running. doesn't look like you can create teams with existing players off the roster, or create teams with real teams as a template. so basically you can't create a league with real teams (because the teams would look cheesy) and you can't create a custom team league with real players (unless you create them all by hand).
I'm pretty pumped for the new club features. I'll probably be really involved with organizing our club team this year. Sucks not having Mutt, but I guess we will see where everyone is at. The practice mode should be a good tool for us to use, since last year we had a bunch of new people and by the time we wanted to help them get better, all of our opponents were just ridiculously good.
