New schedules are up. Not all of what we talked about worked out in the end, but I did the best I could. Now, if you want, you may test these schedules by starting a dynasty with our 12 and moving things around for yourself. But please don't ask me to change this or that if you do not know it to be possible. If you check first, I'll change whatever you like. But I don't want to reopen this thing just to check something for you. You guys have the game.

As we're toying around, let's try to figure out a way to get some of the BCS busters into our schedules. I saw someone who posted a simulation of 7 seasons - Boise St was in the national championship game 4 times and Utah once.

I might try to get Utah in my week one instead of Nevada if it will fit. ND actually plays Utah in 2010, so it's not too much of a stretch.

I added Southern Miss to someone, and Houston to another, for this reason. I think BYU and TCU are on schedules already as well. But I don't mind a buster running the table now and then. If we do it right, the game would be a challenge whoever makes it, if any of us do.

I'm getting kind of worried about the polling in this game. In addition to what Daz wrote, multiple people on OS are posting about 10-3 teams playing in the national championship game, like this guy here:

A 10-3 team that finished 3rd in their conference plays in the BCS championship game instead of a 13-1, SEC champion Florida?!?!?!?!?!?
    EDIT:
Granted, those records are clearly after the bowl games, so it was really a 12-1, champion Florida being passed over for a 10-2, 3rd place Cal team, but still.....

OK, somebody look these over to see if I made any mistakes. It looks like some of us are just going to have fewer user games than others. I have no problem with that. Most of these guys have to win championship games to get to the big dance, so it'll all work out in the end. I may make one more adjustment if the mood hits me.

Until then, make sure I didn't goof anything adding USC.

    Any more changes?

You might want to remove my game with Alabama rather than Army. Alabama gets a championship game. Removing me from Army leaves Shaun w/ 2. Right now you show the ND game on the Army schedule but not ND.

Not looking for an easier road, but the Army game makes more sense to me than playing Alabama. Besides, w/ Michigan and USC I've got 2 tough games already. I'm not going undefeated.

Although Shaun, you absolutely sure you want Army? You're kind of an outlier in a league of 5 & 6* programs (not that you weren't before). I respect it, but it might be more fun for you if you're competing with the other 11 teams for recruits, etc.

Yea, I want to keep Army.:)

I love the rags-to-riches story. I realize I am going to lose alot and get crappy recruits.:)

I have tOSU in the West, so I can get my power trip there.

Last year I had USC and hated it. My favorite dynasty was when I had North Carolina (who was a 3 star program last year).

    I won't get discouraged.:)

Army is absolutely THE dynasty story that I'm most looking forward to reading about over the next year.

Good to hear. I like having Army in the league too, just checking to make sure you're up to it. ;)

I remember that UNC team, back in my Bama days.

I threw together an offline dynasty with our teams in it just to see what it's like to recruit against other people (even if all the people were myself :) ) since I've never done it before. I was shocked to see that Army didn't even have a single 3* kid interested in them. I put in the top 3 anyway. After filling out the rest of the recruiting boards, I decided it was a waste of time to manually do Army since they can't compete so I put them on auto pilot. After week 1 (I was only able to do 1 week before getting the itch to play an actual game) Army was #8 on the #2 recruit in the nation and was #1 on some 4* kid that the CPU inserted in the recruiting board.

    That really surprised me.

OK guys, I am officially lost.

We had two more team changes - they talked to me, so it's cool and all - but I no longer have any grip on who is playing who and when. If someone wants to manage schedules for us, I'm cool with it, but if I have to start from zero again (my third time) after schedules have been up for over a month, I'll f-ing puke. Default schedules, unless one of you guys works it out for us. I've been day and night at this thing. I got nothing left. I'm going to correct the roster in the league description, and then I'm calling it a night.

Whadda ya say we start spreading the responsibilities around a bit?

    AG

I could probably do this, but with us possibly launching tomorrow, I might not have time. I have to work tomorrow and wouldn’t be able to do this until I get home from work around 6PM Mountain time. If I were to do this, here’s what I’m assuming I’d need:
    1. to get everyone 3 user games
    2. Make sure that the games can be scheduled (I’d need my xbox for this of course)
    3. A finalized roster of teams (I’m assuming the one in the league description if final now).
Here is what I see for user games (based on the schedules Archie has posted so far and espn's schedules for texas and oklahoma):
    (3)Florida: gt, fsu, lsu
    (3)Michigan: wisc, aOSU, ND
    (3)Wisconsin: mich, aOSU, army
    (3)Miami: okla, fsu, gt
    (3)FSU: mia, GT, fla
    (3)GA. Tech: fla, fsu, mia
    ---------------------------
    *(2)Ohio State: wisc, mich
    *(2)Notre Dame: mich, army
    *(2)Army: wisc, ND
    *(2)Oklahoma: mia, tex
    ---------------------------
    **(1)LSU: fla
    **(1)Texas: tex

So we need to add 1 user game to 4 teams and 2 games to 2 teams. We could remove some from the teams with 3 games already to add in the other teams, but I think it'd be easier (and easy is good since we're starting so soon, but just using default would suck with 2 guys only playing 1 user) to match up the teams with fewer games.

I would guess that the easier thing to do would be to match up ND and Army (the 2 independents who have the most flexible schedules) with the 2 teams with only 1 game, but those 2 teams are power houses (but on the other hand, someone has to play them). But if we did that, we'd have to have Texas vs aOSU and we'd have Oklahoma vs. LSU.

Those are some pretty huge matchups, but in all honesty, most of the user games are going to be huge matchups now with the roster of teams that are now in this league (#1, #2, #4, #5, #6, #11, #16, #23). That's 8/12 teams that are in the top 25 (and 5 of the top 6).

Let me know if this works for everyone, and if so I'll see if I can make the schedules fit in the game (when I get home). If not, I think we have 2 choices:
    1. Have fewer than 3 user games (I think we should all have 3 however).
    2. Change up the schedules of those teams that already have 3 games. If we do this, however, there are some teams whose user games are pretty set in stone already. IE. Michigan, Miami, FSU. Of the 6 teams already with 3 games, the only ones I see that can really be changed are:
wisc-army (but army only has 2 games already)
    florida-GT

Let me know what you guys want to do with this.

Hey AG - I can take care of this. I'll get each team that stayed the same all of the matchups that they agreed to, minus the ones with the teams that changed.

The teams that changed will get at least 3 user matchups, but they get no choice in who they are.

EDIT: Okay, I've worked it out that each team will have 3 user games.

Michigan, Wisconsin, FSU, Miami, Georgia Tech, and Florida all keep their current posted schedules. Miami-Oklahoma becomes a user game.

    Add LSU-Texas in Week One.
Add Ohio State-Notre Dame in Week 9 (Oct 31)
    Add LSU-Oklahoma in Week Three.
Add Army-Texas in Week Two, remove Army-Alabama game and replace with easier team.

That's pretty much the only way to change the schedules to give everyone 3 user games. Without the changes, LSU will only have 1 user game, the others would have two.
