The 2015-2016 Miami Dolphins spent a lot of money in the offseason to compete in the East this year. Owner Billy Carter feels this year's team has talent all over the field, but the AFC East is going to be tough to win. In an interview after the preseason, Carter told reporters, "the AFC East is going to be tough to win, but this team has the talent to compete. If the team doesn't finish well it will be on the head coach." The Dolphins started the season of in Washington playing the Redskins. The offense went right down the field on the opening drive and scored a TD. The defense bent but didn't break and the Redskins came away with a field goal making the score 7-3 Dolphins. Then the Dolphins offense went stagnate, and the defense had issues keeping RG3 in the pocket, and he had all day to throw. The Redskins took a 20-7 lead into halftime. The Dolphins must have had a come to Jesus meeting at halftime, because they played much better football in the second half holding the Redskins to only 7 points. However the Redskins had a costly missed FG, and the Dolphins tied the game up 27-27 with seconds left in the game and took the game to OT. In OT QB Ryan Tannehill threw his 2nd INT and the defense had to stop the Redskins, because a FG would have won the game. The Dolphins Defense came up with a big stop and Lamar Miller closed the show running the ball in for a TD.
