The Gators are coming off a strong spring and summer camp.

They feel like they are primed for a big season.

John Brantley takes over the keys to the nice car. He will have Demps, Rainey, and Moody back in the backfield.

The Gators will look to Deonte Thompson to lead an unproven WR core. Andre Debose needs to be a super sophomore. His freshman year had flashes of brilliance.

Aaron Hernandez returns and will be Branltey's security blanket.

The Oline stay in tact led by the Pouncey Twins.

Carlos Dunlap is the new "Freak" he will be joined by William Green at DE. Green beat out Duke Lemmens for the starting job although Dan McCarney (D-line coach) says they are fairly equal talent wise. The strength of the Florida team is their interior linemen. They are big, nasty, and good.

AJ JOnes, Brandon Beal, and Brandon Hicks will start at LB. Look for Jon Bostic and Jelani Jenkins to get in the mix as well.

Arguably the top secondary in the country stay in tact this season. Joe Haden and Janoris Jenkins are superstars. Major Wright is viewed as many as the top FS in the country skill wise. Will Hill has overtaken Ahmad Black for the team's starting SS job.

Special Teams will be a strength with both kickers returning and Andre Debose and Chris Rainey handling return duties.

The Florida Gators have been a solid verbal commitment from the #1 OLB in the country John Archer from Virginia. He chose Florida over Oklahoma and LSU.

    FLORIDA DOMINATES

John Brantley made his first start as a Gator. He came out blazing leading the team right down the field and connecting with TJ Lawrence for the first score of the 2010 campaign. He would struggle throwing a couple picks and losing a fumble. he finished with 3 td passes on the day. The turnovers must be dealt with if the Gators hope to make it back to Atlanta.

The Gators have showed that they adjust to their personnel. They tweaked the offense last year and this year Urban Meyer and Steve adazzio were seen in South Bend, Indiana meeting with Charlie Weiss!

    down for 3 weeks

    UF 38 UT 10

After easily disposing the USF Bulls. The Gators turned their attention to Lane Kiffin and the Tennessee Vols. Going into his first hostile environment, John Brantley did not pass the test. He managed the game well and made some big throws to get his team into very short scoring situations. Emmanuel Moody took advantage of those opportunities by scoring 3 rushing TD's. However, Brantley threw 0 TD's and 3 Int's. Tha Gators used a committee of players to tote the load on the ground. Moody 58, Gillislee 42 and a TD, Demps 26 and Brantley 20.

The Gators dominated the Vols offense all day despite the turnovers by their own offense. They would have 5 sacks and 1 Major Wright INt on the day.

The Gators did not come out of Knoxville unscathed they lost Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey for 3 weeks due to injury

[IMG] Chico Hernandez was a monster in the redzone catching 3 td passes from John Brantley.

Florida did not come to play in this one and was lucky to escape with a victory. Dropped balls, and roughing the passing penalties almost did the Gators in. Fortunately the receivers got hot, Aaron Hernandez went wild and Emmanuel Moody ran tough in the 4th quarter to grind the clock and enssure a victory.

Janoris Jenkins led the way on defense with 2 Int's.
    Will Hill added 11 stops 2 tfl's
    Key stats

    John Brantley 21 of 41 270 yards 4 td 1 int
    E. Moody 114 yards 1 TD
    A. Hernandez 4 rec. 42 yards 3 td's

    Another letdown

ALABAMA AND FLORIDA BATTLE IN ANOTHER CLASSIC, BAMA WINS 31 - 30

Urban Meyer was very much into this one.

Similar to last years SEC Championship, Alabama and Florida put on another show. In what will mostly like go down as one of the great games of the season, Alabama rallied from a 24 - 0 second quarter deficit to edge the Gators, 31 - 30 in Tuscaloosa.

Florida came out ready to play as they jumped out to a 7 - 0 lead on this 47 yard touchdown pass from Brantley to Hammond Jr.

Only 1:20 later, Florida struck again on another long pass to TE A. Hernandez for a 61 yard touchdown. Unfortunately for Bama coach Ryty, Florida coach SDID immediately saw that he had a defensive end matched up man to man on one of the best TE's in the country.

After a Phillips 36 yard FG and another Hernandez touchdown catch, Florida had a 24 - 0 lead in the middle of the second quarter. What would happen next would be the turning point of the game. With Florida driving to take a commanding 31 - 0 lead, Alabama CB R. Green picked off a pass on the end zone and returned it 100 yards to get cut the Florida lead to 24 - 7. This play would give Bama some needed momentum to take into the second half.

In the 3rd quarter, Alabama scored 21 unanswered points on two Mark Ingram TD runs and another interception return for a TD.

In the 4th, Florida would mount two drives resulting in two field goals to take a 30 - 28 lead with 3 minutes to go. Alabama would drive down the field on a long capped off by a 39 year pass to Heisman Trophy Winner Julio to get the Tide in FG range. From there, Bama would kick a 31 yd FG to take the lead 31 - 30. On the ensuing drive, Florida QB Brantley would be picked off with under a minute remaining to save the game for the Tide.

Florida routs FAU looks ahead to LSU.

John brantley hit some big passes but was very inaccurate in rainy conditions against FAU. He came out early and hit Andre Debose and TJ Lawrence on big scoring strikes. Jeff Demps returned from injury to rush for over 100 yards. Chris Rainey also returned giving Florida 3 Runningbacks they can count on heading into a big game with LSU. Florida has to win out if it wants a chance to return to Atlanta.

The Florida defense was solid scoring 8 points and holding FAU to 10. Major Wright recorded a safety and Moses jenkins returned a Jon Bostic forced fumble for a score late in the game. Carlos dunlap continues his tear and is up to 9 sacks. Dee Finley and janoris Jenkins added interceptions.

Urban Meyer has got to find a way to re-motivate his team. The defense cam out uninspired. They have had a lot of pressure on them this season with a rookie quarterback at the helm. However, they did not show up and let the LSU Tigers win the game in the 1st quarter. The Gator D was not prepared for the LSU rushing attack and it showed.

The Gators turned the ball over on offense and special teams to make matters worse.

Meyer and the Gators have proven they are miles away from winning another national title.

SO you spoiled Titletown fans better pack a Snickers because you may be waiting for awhile . . .

Florida's defense shines despite the numbers

Major Wright had 2 picks on the day.

The Florida Gators play spoiler for the National title hopes of the hated Bulldogs. The Florida defense played a great game despite allowing over 300 yards of passing. They held the Dawgs to 13 points. They picked them off 5 times returning 2 for TD's. They also mustered 2 sacks on the georgia pass happy offense. Major Wright had two picks, Joe haden and janoris Jenkins returned their int's for 6 points and Will Hill also had a snag.

On offense Florida struggled to move the ball against the hard hitting Bulldog D. Aaron hernandez was the OPOY he had a great 58 yard TD reception breaking a couple takcles on his way to the zone. John Brantley played his Trent Dilfer role and didn't screw up a great day by the Gator defense.

Well John Brantley proved that he can beat up on the SEC bottom feeder. Brantley connected 6 times for TD's as Florida abuses Vandy. Vandy could not muster any offense against the starting defense. Florida's offense did whatever they wanted to. Andre Debose had his best receiving game as a Gator going over 100 yards and a couple scores.

After a big win vs. USCe Florida lands two of the best linemen in the country both out of Alabama. Urban Meyer wanted to bring in a class of 2 Tackles 2 Guards and a Center to groom them to be the line of the future. They are waiting on a commit from a guard to make this plan come to life.

The Gators were able to sign a 4 star DE out of Florida before the dead period hits for recruiting. Florida is going to lose a lot of leadership and playmakers this coming offseason and are looking to sign at least 20 players.

John Brantley led the Gators on a furious charge to beat TCU in the Sugar Bowl. TCU would handle the Gators early and take a lead into the 4 th quarter. Brantley got on a roll and started picking the TCU secondary apart.

Meyer: Johnny was great tonight. We beat a good TCU team. This momentum will carry us to the offseason. We had some great Gators play their last game in the Orange and Blue, this win was for them.
