    Florida 2011 Scouting Report (3)

    Playbooks:
    Offense = Miss St
    Defense = Multiple D

    Scholarships Available: 14 (4 :5stars:)

    2011-2012 Recruiting Board
Needs: HB, FB, K, and OLB

    Commit List
    Column 1 Column 2 Column 3 Column 4 Column 5 Column 6
    Name Position Ranking Caliber Notes
1 T. Williams CB 1 :5stars: A 6'3" CB who can hit like a ton of bricks, what more could a coach ask for?!?
2 D. Long WR 3 :5stars: Surprise commit. Expect this guy to move up the depth chart quickly and make an impact as a sophomore.
3 Z. Cox OLB 3 :5stars: Stole him from VaTech. B- across the board. This guy should develop into a stud.
4 A. Johnson QB 1 :5stars: #1 recruit and gunslinger in the nation. This guy could rewrite the record books.
5 S. Burke CB 8 :4stars: very excited about landing this guy. Solid man cover corner. At 6'3" will matchup nicely w/SEC's prototype WRs.
6 D. Perez QB 5 :4stars: This kid will bring the spread option attack back to UF and give opposing defenses nightmares.
7 C. Mosby SS 4 :4stars: What a steal this kid is. The best zone cover safety in the class with above average hit power.
8 M. Burley HB 18 :4stars: UF steals him from UNC. 6'1" 195lbs & a strong runner. He fills the need left by Sr's Demps, Rainey, & Moody.
9 K. Bonds DT 25 :3stars: 6'3" 264 lbs Great technical skills and is a strong pass rusher, could move to DE.
10 A. Lowery DE 41 :3stars: 6'4" 210 lbs Good power moves and speed. Will need to add some weight to see the field.
    11 D. Washington G 57 :3stars: 6'3" 300lbs above average pass/run blocker. Needs to develop awareness.
12 C. Flowers K 14 :3stars: 6'2" 202 lbs Above average leg strength with average accuracy. Had to have him with Sturgis graduating.
    13 J.T. Diggs TE 25 :3stars: 6'8" 237lbs. What a huge target with great hands.
14 B. Kaplan FS 18 :3stars: 6'1" 166lbs. B+ spd, B+ mcv. Needs time to develop but that's exactly what he'll have behind Sophomore Jensen.

With only 14 scholarships available this season, UF's under a lot of pressure to address their needs and continue to build depth with talented recruits.

Offense: runs true Florida spread with Dan Mullen's Miss St playbook. throw deep to Thomspon and loves the shotgun pitch to Demps

Defense: used different sets able to throw and run but made one mistake which was a dumb pick, oh well.. dont play conservative, still take your shots down field but keep his offense off the field

Defense - Lots of man coverage with ball hawking dbs

Offense - Runs spread, has a very good O-line, if you you don't pressure QB your in trouble

Offense- Runs the spread offense very effectively. Lots of speed on the field. Will try to test your corners occasionaly and hit WR Thompson deep, but does spread the ball very well. Will try to establish somewhat of a running game to keep you honest.

Defense- Plays with the FS and can cover alot of area. Will blitz, but does a good job of mixing it up. I was able to run fairly effectively between the tackles and work the option.

Offensively he runs mostly 3 WR sets most of the game so I played a lot of 3-3-5 and regular nickel but Demps broke some runs outside but you cant really stop a RB with 99 speed either way. Tried Thompson a few times deep and had some nice sideline lasers to him.

Defensively he runs lots of everything and controls the FS. Very hard to pass over the middle agianst him because every OLB has 4.4 speed. there was even a play where i ran 4 WR and no one over the slot so i bombed it to him a second after the snap and the DE came 10 yards downfield in a zone drop and knocked it down and 91 speed OLB made a great INT on a deep throw late in game at least 20 yards downfield

Best way to attack if I did it again is run a lot of double tight and pound it behind them or a FB because you cant outrun the LB to the sideline and when passing just bait him as he controls the FS and comes up to support the run a lot

Gators pick up a commitment from DT K. Bonds. He's only a 3 star, but he could be a diamond in the rough. He's a great pass rusher and will provide versatility to play inside or outside on the D line.

Gators also picked up a soft commitment from the #1 QB in the nation. We'll see if they can keep him away from in state rival FSU.

Gators pick up commitments 8, 9, and 10. These commits address needs that the Gators have heading into next season. Only the kicker Flowers will make an immediate impact, the other two are likely to redshirt.

    Week 15 update:

The Gators recruiting class is almost full. They picked up commitments from the #4 SS Charles Mosby out of Leesburg, Florida and the #18 HB Mike Burley out of Decatur, Georgia.

Mosby is an amazing talent and one of the gems of this class. He is rated one of the best zone coverage safeties this year and has above average hit power. He's got solid speed and will get to learn and develop for a year or two behind a great talent in Dee Finley.

HB Mike Burley was a huge get for the Gators. They needed a HB or two and while missing early on the #1 HB in the nation Chris Crawford, who committed to UGA, they were getting desperate. Graduating seniors Demps, Rainey, and Moody will leave a huge hole and with only 2 HB's Mike Gillisslee and Wilkinson on the roster, this was a huge need for the Gators.
