    Florida Gators

Week 1 going into the UCF game the Gators picked up a big commitment from 5 star recruit DT Jay Holloway 6'5 274 out of New York.

When asked why he chose the Gators so early in the process he said because when Florida knocks you better answer! Penn St, Texas, Michigan and Auburn were also in his top 5.

    Leave our rep alone lol.

Coming off of an average outing in a win against UCF, Urban Meyer was not pleased to here that 5 star dual threat stud Robby Robbins pulled the trigger early and committed to Oklahoma. Stoops is up to some funny business . . .

    Week 2

Urban Meyer is relieved and anxious. he's relieved that his Gator squad did not overlook their first two opponents and were victorious. He is anxious to settle a war of words that began last winter with the hiring of Lane Kiffen. Kiffen of course is the head guy at the University of Tennessee. He made headlines accusing Meyer of recruiting violations. He also stated that he couldn't wait to beat Florida and sing Rocky Top all night long.

Meyer hasn't given the media much to quote regarding the situation. However it is widely known through out the Gator Nation that this one is big. The Gators have been efficient but there is much room for improvement. Look for Meyer to have his team amped and focused to punish the VOLS in Gainesville this coming week!

LOL! That Kiffin kid doesn't know what he's talking about! His papa should instill some PR discipline in him so he doesn't become bulletin board material for the #1 team in the nation. Good luck!

Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators pick up a big time 4 star committment from Richard Tolbert a mammoth 6'7 285 tackle out of Lake Worth Florida. He will be in this week for the Tennessee game.

Tolbert stated that he grew up a Gator fan and wanted to accept the offer as soon as he received it but his parents asked him to at least talk to some other teams. He committed while on a phone call with OC Steve Adazzio. Coach Adazzio convinced my parents that it was time and we went ahead and did it.

Tolbert had offers from FSU and Alabama.

This is the second commitment for the 2010 class.

The Florida Gators held on to defeat bitter rival Tennesee. This was Lane Kiffen's first go at the Gators while the score was close due to two late 4th quarter TD's his team was never in control. Kiffen had some choice words for Meyer and the Gator Nation during his early days as UT's new head man. However, those words only added fuel to a fire that has not been extinquished since the loss last year to Ole Miss.

Kiffen said "The Gators deserved to win today they avoided turnovers and made us pay for ours." However, Kiffen had this to say as well, "Look at the stat sheet we dominated their ass. Next year in Knoxville we will see how they do without Tebow, Spikes and the rest of those guys."

Urban Meyer was thrilled with the win but understands they must play better. Meyer said " You look to improve every game I believe we have done that." He also said that, "This was a big win in front of the Gator Nation and in front of some big time recruits." Meyer on Kiffen's comments "He has a point, but but we don't apologize for winning games in the most brutal conference in football on any level."

Next up the Gators travel to Lexington to take on the Wildcats of Kentucky.

No this wasn't a fall ball game between the two baseball teams this was indeed the final score to the latest football matchup between SEC East foes Florida and Kentucky. The Gators controlled the game but found away to be on the wrong side of third down most of the game. They also missed 2 FG's. Very sloppy outing from the point producers. The Gator Defense however is starting to peek for a title run. Countless bone jarring hit after hit. Brandon Spikes, Major Wright, Jermaine Cunningham, and Carlos Dunlap led the way for a stingy Gator defense. Next up the Gators battle the Bye Week. That's right. Coach Meyer expects his team to win their next outing starting this coming week. They also hope to reel in some top notch high school talent. Rumor has it they are minutes away from getting some big time commitments.

Is that a Florida tradition? What are they doing? Your QB looks bigger than your MLB!

The past few summers the team does a strongest man type of thing in the Swamp to raise money for charity. They break up into a few teams and compete at different events.

    4 star WR picks Gators

The Florida Gators received another hard verbal commitment. David Johnson the 10th ranked WR in the 2010 class has decided to be a Gator. He is 6'1 161 and is coming from a JUCO. He is their 3rd commitment and the first skill player the Gators have received a pledge from.

Nice! Gators seem to be reloading, as usual! Is Meyer getting nervous about the impending trip to Death Valley? He has to get it done this year with Tebow and the defense!

Coach Meyer has 4 dates he circles on his regualr season calendar. This is one of those dates. The gators offense hopefully worked some kinks out so they can hit on all cylinders going into this matchup. The Gator D will have it's hands full also with LSU's explosive offense.

Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators get their first win in Death Valley in the Meyer era. The game went back and forth. With both defenses pounding the opposing offense Up 16-13 the Gator defense could not get LSU off the field they drove down inside the 20 and it looked as if they were gonna march into the endzone. Key stops of Charles Scott (over 100 yards rushing and over 50 rec.) by Brandon Spikes and Jermaine Cunningham forced the Tigers to kick a Fg. Helton converted and the game was tied with les than a minute to play.

Tebow and the Gators hit a few passes and moved the ball up to their 42 yard line. Running no huddle Tebow got the Gators into the right play as he hit his roommate Riley Cooper on a post for 58 yards and a score.

LSU would have 42 seconds left and their timeouts. They went 4 and out as they had just inched into Gator territory and the Florida Gators survive again!

    Tim Tebow post game

    A distarught Tebow said,

"You will never see any player in the entire country who will play harder than I will play the rest of the season," You know what I'm not saying anything this time. We are done talking and taking pictures. We are going back to Gainesville and figuring out what works and what doesn't and you will see Florida Gator offense the rest of the season. God Bless"

Uh oh! Meyer can't seem to catch a break in Baton Rouge! Talk about a brutal SEC! OU will be the next target at #1...or does the SEC think LSU deserves the spot?
