    Florida International Season Outlook

The Golden Panthers are coming off a sucessful 1st season under the guidance of Coach Stewart. While the Golden Panthers failed to be invited to a bowl game, they did manage to record their first winning season in school history. We caught up with Coach Stewart and here's what he had to say about this coming season:

"I'm looking forward to building on the success we had last year, there were several games we let slip away last year, that we just can't have happening. If we win those two games we're 9-3 instead of 7-5, and that looks a lot better to the meida and recruits. We're here to win and that's what were going to do.

We've got a couple of questions going into the season, there's been a fierce competition for our starting quarterback spot between freshman Jake Medlock, and then Senior Wesley Carroll. We're going to play the guy that's going to help us win football games. Carroll is a little quicker in the pocket, where Melock has a little more power and accuracy in his throws. We're not sure what to expect out of him, but we expect him to go out there an compete. We're hoping that our returning leading rusher Darriet Perry is going to continue right were we left off last year and have a strong senior season, if he can do that, we're going to win a lot of ball games.

On the defensive side of the ball we return two very talented players, in MLB Aaron Davis, and FS Jonathan Cyprien, who is a preseason All-American. We're expecting big things out of those two, and if they can perform at the level we believe they can, we think our defense is going to be greatly improved compared to last year.

Looking at our schedule it's not going to be easy this year that's for sure.

Arizona, @UCF, @ Michigan State, Louisville, @ Arkansas State, @ WKU, Troy, NT, @MTSU, @ULM, ULL, FAU

To me they're all important games but you can't help but notice the first 5 games of our schedule are brutal, and then we wrap up the season against our rival FAU. Talk about a fun, fun time around Miami, we're looking forward to it.
