Outlook: High expectations for the Seminoles come with some question marks as well. FSU comes into the season with a Preseason Rank of #14 in the country and a favorite to win the ACC. A lot of this will ride on the play of the 6 freshmen who will be starting for FSU this season. Most notably is QB Jameis Winston. Winston is a highly regarded QB who shunned his home state university of Alabama to come play for the Seminoles. Winston is a dual threat QB, a strong arm to go along with great speed to hurt defenses on the ground. The Seminoles expect to run a semi-pro option offense and should suit Winston fine. The biggest key with him will be his decision making and accuracy, which can be said of many freshman QB's. Joining him on offense is Mario Pender. Devonta Freeman is the starter but Pender will see a lot of looks over the course of the season, and will be used as a scat-back type of player. RV has said he hopes to get Pender 10 touches a game. Pender joins Freeman and Senior James Wilder to give the Seminoles 3 solid options at running back, all capable of starting.

On the other side of the ball, Chris Casher will start at DE. Casher is a 4 star DE and will start opposite last years freshman DE Mario Edwards. At OLB you have true freshman Matthew Thomas, a 5 star recruit out of Miami. Coach RV was able to see Thomas up close in high school, and Thomas thrilled in FSU's spring game, leading them to start the true freshman rather than redshirt him. Both Kicker Aguayo and Punter Beatty are freshman as well.

The Seminoles are normally known for their defense, this season fans are excited at the prospect that their offense could be just as dominant. Key games: Wk 8 at #9 Clemson, Wk 10 vs Miami, Wk 14 at #10 Florida.
