    Format for next season

So Foshe and I were kicking around some ideas....

I had a thought that we do Big 12, Pac 10, Big 10 again.. but we have to take bottom half of the conference teams... not the big dogs.

What other ideas do you guys have?

UGHH---I love the users in my conference, but I was really hoping to get a chance to run with a better team this season. MeThinks the VTs, Clemsons, UNCs, of the world should get the option for a UGA/Miami/Bama/UT type of team. USC is who I wanted but UCLA still kinda sucks---I could run with them or maybe Cal??

the reason we got the strong teams this year is because we played with weaker ones in '09..

    Helli - Purdue - Georgia
    Ryno - A&M - LSU
    Ramirez - ASU - Auburn
    Foshe - UCLA - Bama
VaSteel - OK State - Florida

we tried to flip it in '10

i just want to see more variety than everyone being in the top 10 every year. Would like to roll with mid level or poor BCS teams.

Yeah man, I realize this---that was my logic as well.

Either way we will most likely all be in the Top 25. It has more to do with the recruiting IMO.

I would like to see everyone have a shot to have thier favorite NCAA team, makes the league better imo.

Some guys have the same favs so they have to play off for them. Then we fill in around them.

JMS loves Penn State so let him have them, it only makes the league better.

Mike and Josh love ASU let them play off with them.

    A&M goes to Ryno.

So on and so on. We should also try to mix the confernces up some. So Ryno, Fosh and Mike arent all on the same side, same with Helli, VA and I.

The rest of is can fill in the blanks. I dont care if I have a great team or a bad one honestly.

Oregon was nothing special and I made them into a good team, Michigan was ok when I got there and we got better.

UT was not a top team when we started this and we won there.

    That said..

My top choices would be Michigan, UCLA, WSU, UW

Michigan isnt exactally a national power anymore...but have solid tradition and I have strong ties there, UCLA was my favorite as a kid growing up along with the Rams, Dodgers, Chargers, Lakers...

WSU and UW home state teams.

Good post. The everyone pick their homer teams idea was one JMS, Helli, and I had been kicking around. I'd roll with South Carolina if that were the case. Again my only hangup is with the recruiting. The problem with the game historically, is that the even once you build a powerhouse with a mid-level team, you don't get the amount of interested players overall that the bigger schools get. For instance I have A+ across the board pretty much with UNC and UGA still has twice the amount of players interested to start every season. I definitely think you're onto something with that idea though Brucie.

Wasn't there rumors of PITT joining the big 10 going around? If that was the case, I think it would be great to spark up that Pitt/Penn rivalry!!
You all should of seen the prank gifts during xmas time between my Dad (PITT) and Uncle (PENN) He actually invented the "SHITT ON PITT" buttons, but had to stop selling them when Paterno actually got in touch with him.

Here's why I don't like the idea of Pac-10 - Big 10 - Big 12, is that the Big 12 has the Conf. Championship game and the others don't.

I'd rather do Pac-10, Big 10, Big East.

Or SEC, Big 12, ACC... something like this

I'm all for taking lower-tiered teams that would be fun.

The only thing I don't like about our current setup is there weren't enough OOC games. I'd like it to be just as organized, but with one additional conference. 4 teams in 3 conferences. I'll do wahtever but it looks like we need a few votes to get this narrowed down:

    format (2 conf, 3 conf, free-for-all)
    Team quality
    Which Conferences (if any limitations)

The thing that will screw everything up is that in the Pac 10 and Big East you play every opponent once a year but in the Big 10 or any of the other conferences it rotates through. It would make it harder to schedule games and get the match ups people want.

I suppose although in the Big 10 we could set it up so people are rivals whenever possible. Lot of rivalries going on there.

Well as the only person in this league who like the Badgers I would call dibs if we go with the "lower tier" set up that JMS posted. By the way the Badgers play there first game in the Frozen Four since winning it all a few years ago on Saturday. You guys can catch it at 5 eastern on ESPN 2.
