Forza 3 demo on live....now
Go get it!
When does this game drop again? And question for you Guru's, does everyone use manual transmission and cockpit view?
The cockpit view was never in the game.
My advice do whatever you can get the fastest lap times in.
Manual transmission will give you an advantage.
Game comes out October 27th or something like that.
I'm definitely no guru and I don't user manual tranny or cockpit view.
J what view do you use? I haven't played a racing game in ages, but I was never able to use manual in video games. I'd always lose track of either my steering or my gearing. I equate it to playing piano and singing at the same time. Maybe I'm just dumb
Manual = MAN
Auto = Breast Feeder
Just playin, like JMS said, what ever gives you the best laptime.
But once you get used to manual, you'll never go back. Plus the added a clutch this year, so that should make things interesting.
I use auto and behind the car and can compete. If the cockpit view is good I will use cockpit.
in NFS Shift and GT Prologue I use the cockpit view. In Dirt 2, Grid, Forza, MC I use the behind the car.
I know Helli and alot of the better racers use manual, and bumper or hood cam.
I also have trouble with manual......I have tried practicing it for a while and I end up with slower lap times so......I use auto. I will try manual again this year to start.
The key is if you can keep a good line and never go off the track you will do fine. You should be always either gassing it or braking it.....rarely should you be cruising through the track without you foot on the gas or brake.
let the Hot lap fighting begin.....i will enjoy my time at the top until hell grabs a hold of the wheel.
the cockpit view is nice....
Is there a good wheel/pedal combo for the Xbox? I used to be a pretty mean Nascar 2003 racer.
I tried NFS Shift this week and I couldn't drive worth a shit with the controller. The physics were nice, but I couldn't feel my way out of a slide when I went into turns hot.
how does manual give you and advantage?
if you master it, it will shave time off your lap time.
You can the use tranny to slow the car down and brake later and accelerate faster through turns.
and you also control how far you can redline the car... on Auto, it doesn't get to the max RPM before shifting.
Yeah, that's the HUGE difference between the two, along with the breaking issue.
Just got into the top 4% with the EVO. Anyone get up higher than that?
Truthfully, I downloaded it, played it once, went "Oh, that's nice" and haven't touched it since.
No point in playing the demo really...
I would have to check but the 2nd day it was on live it hit the top 1 % on every car.....
if i get my nerd wheel back today as planned... commence assault on the Tradition Leaderboard..
where do you see that?
Yeah I deleted it after giving it a look, not a lot of space on the HD, probably drove an average of 4 laps in each car.
after you pick car, before you start race. press Y for leaderboard. pick one of the top times and race against their ghost. race as many laps as you want, and once you get a good time, just quit and go to leader boards again. It will tell you what % you are in.
