The overall #1 prospect in baseball for the previous 2-3 seasons has reached AAA after winning pitcher of the year in the Eastern League (AA) last year and will make is expected to make his debut with the Detroit Tigers sometime later this year. A career 1.59 era through his development, he commands a fierce arsenal where he has averaged over 11 strikeouts per 9 innings.

    Stay tuned for updates

Aug 2043 l It took some time for O'neal to settle into AAA ball with only 40 control. He's managed to post some very dominating games while still getting rung up here and there. Management was beginning to worry if they had moved him up too early as we had not seen any development in his control in a loooong time.

Without fail, we have control development! Although, MLB appearance looks unlikely this year now.

SP Foster O'neal started his first MLB game against the Washington Nationals. He managed to throw a complete game allowing 3 runs on 9 hits while striking out 12. That was good for a game-score of 67.

O'Neal's next start will be April 11th against Baltimore at home.

SP O'Neal started two games last sim winning one (player of the game award) and a no decision in the other.

Against divisional foe Toronto O'Neal only surrendered 3 hits while walking 5. Once his control fully develops we hope to see these walks numbers reduce.

Eventually Baltimore for to O'Neal in this game after pitching 5 shut out innings and he was pulled. Both bullpens in this game got shelled

Last two starts did not go well for O'Neal picking up his first two losses. Never made it out of the 4th inning in either while raising his ERA up to 4.50 on the year.

Dev Note: All his pitches are fully developed.

Oh...make no mistake I don't want my team to win right now. At this point winning hurts my team, but seeing mega hyped Foster O'Neal get tossed around like a cheap hooker makes my season much better than seeing my team over achieve :).

At the midway point in the season O'Neal has had his expected ups and downs with only 50 control. As his 1.35 WHIP is evidence of this. Although, he does have a 3.23 FIP vs his 4.26 ERA.

With 18 game started under his belt he is currently averaging a game score of 54. As a 23 yr old rookie pitcher with plenty of development to go we are happy with what we have seen thus far.

What is especially promising are his numbers over his last three starts:

We look forward to a better second half and cruising to another divisional title and avoiding the Bronx Bombers who will likely lose again before the ELCS.

August comes to a completion and O'Neal is putting together a solid rookie campaign.

In case you haven't been following along..... O'neal is off to quite a start for his career (which inevitable means Mike will attempt to kill him. Especially if NYY doesn't make the playoffs this year).

He's currently on pace to potentially win his 2nd consecutive EL Cy Young Award. Scary part is he still lacks on his control development

Dan Thomas is running away with the Cy Young atm, so I doubt he wins again. It is true though that hes doing all this without maxing out his control yet.

May 1, 2047 l O'neal has lost 5 potential on his control. He will be 27 after this season is over and it is beginning to look like he may not maximize his control development. Tigers mgmt are hopefully he can get 5 more at least before plateauing. The good news his pitches are staying steady and he is off to another start to a great year.

June 1, 2047 l Another year, another run at the Cy Young for O'neal. Foster started 6 games reaching a decision in all of them. Foster went 5-1 while posting a 2.79 era, 1.03 whip and 12.1 K/9 in the games. Two of those starts he shut out Boston and Philly. His potential control has now come down to 55 and looks like he's plateaued. While still posting league topping numbers, if he had maxed his control he could have been legendary. He still may accomplish that with less tools.

his BB/9 always performed at or above 60 control rating anyway in my opinion. bummer he cant reach it to see if would have drove those stats down even further.

September, 11, 2047 l O'neal has been simply great this year. He is now 17-2 with a larger than career average era of 3.53. He has only lost 1 game since mid-May.
