Free Agents and Trading/Cutting Most of the free agents that have been traded (all 3 of them) have been "bought" at overall value. I would like to make the following suggestions: If a free agent is traded, and he was originally gotten at face value, there is no cap hit for trading that player. If a free agent is CUT, the owner takes the overall value cap hit for 1 year after cutting the player. If a free agent is traded and was purchased for more than "face value"....how do we want to handle this? Cap hit of overall for one year like with cutting? Or something else? For now, though, there will be no cap hit for trades involving a player that was gotten at "face value". So that means Vikings and Jags do not take cap hits at this time.
