From how I read the Cap Hit rules:

If I release the players I signed last year I won't receive a cap hit. I would only receive a cap hit if I release them within 1 year of signing.

    This correct?

Not quite. When you release a free agent, you get the cap hit for the rest of the year.

However, due to a nice loophole, if you release them before we end this season, your cap hit ends when this season ends.

Then you pay until the new season starts. Which is for about 10 days at most.

However, you must still be at 53 man roster when offseason begins, so you won't be able to cut but at most 2 guys (if you are at 55 man roster).
