Game of the Week - 2011 week 6 Since Jello & Beazus are already playing.... #1 Florida vs. #15 LSU Once again the #1 team in the nation will be put to the test on the road. Florida takes this spot over after UNC was knocked out in week 5. Even if UF can escape the night game vs LSU they will not have an easy time staying on top. Listen to this schedule...week 7 @ #2 VT, week 8 vs Georgia, week 13 FSU. LSU still has a tough road themselves with 4 user games. Will home field advantage be enough for the Tigers to shake up the polls and the SEC? Lets check out the matchup. Florida Offense - Speed, speed, speed. QB John Brantley is no Tebow, however he does a fine job of using his weapons. He has a completed %75 of his passes so far with a 12-2 TD-INT ratio, nuff said. It dosen't really matter which RB is in the game because they are all fast. Out of the spread they look to run in space and then spin or juke past a defender in the open field. But their RB aren't the only players carrying the ball. There WR run option handoffs and direct snaps. Oh, and they catch it well also. They are led by Deonte Thompson and his 7 offensive TDs. The offensive line holds their own against any team in the country. Defense - This is arguably the best group of LBs in the country. Senior ROLB John Jons has 22 tackles and 2 sacks. These guys are fast. Overall the secondary is young but Donavan Jensen RS FR has 21 tackles and plays all over the field. LSU Offense - This team has talented yet very young skill position players. Russell Shepard looks like he will be better than Jordan Jefferson was. The big question is if the RS SO is ready for primetime. This young QB is a hell of an athlete, he is averaging 3.6 per carry. and throws for 233yds a game. SO Michael Ford will get the carries, but he comes in with only 52yds/game. Don't sleep on the SR FB Ridley who can truck people if given the rock. More youth for the Tigers at WR... The balanced attack is led by AA SO Rueban Randle. Keep an eye on TE McCartney across the middle, he has some speed. The teams young skill players are supported by a very good veteran O-Line. T Bob Hebert is a beast that makes his team better Defense - LSU has a tough font four. SR LE Sidell Crley has 9 TFL and 3 sacks, and DT Chris Davenport is 6'4 326 and a AA. They have a speedy LB group with Ryan Baker already recording 35 tackles. The DB's are a mix of young guys and vets. They aren't the fastest group around but they tackle well. JR CB Ron Brooks looks to add to his 23 tackles. Prediction I think LSU has a good chance to pull off the upset. Florida only has 2 stats in which they are in the top 10...points and turnover diff. That means the make big plays and make you pay for mistakes. If LSU can win or come up even on the TO battle LSU's powerful O-line could control the game. But if Randle throws to many questionable passes this will be a blowout.
