The winner of each game (or user if playing the CPU) must post a short game summary following their game. The summary must include the following:
    • Game Score
    • Key Team Stats
    • Key Individual Stats
    • Notes
This can be as basic or as simply as you would like to make it. However, the more engaging the posts are, the more invested other users will be in this thread and the league in general. Its up to you how much effort you want to put into it.

    SAINTS BACK ON TRACK
Defense plays well enough to win
    [IMG]
In what looked to be an all out defensive grudge match with no score until late in the 2nd quarter, the offenses finally showed up. Atlanta's K, Matt Bryant put the Falcons up by 3 with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. But, that of course would not go unanswered as the Saints, fresh off their embarrassing loss to the Eagles, struck back with an 80 yard TD pass from Jay Cutler to the speedy Lance Moore. New Orleans defence then manned up to stop the podent Atlanta offense on a very fast 3 and out that was answered by a good drive that ended in a Saints 20 yard TD grab by no other than TE Jimmy Graham. The Falcons did not break down as they quickly answered with a 5 yard TD grab of their own from Roddy White with only 20 seconds left. It looked as though that would be the final points of the half, but head coach Cole Copeland wasn't having it. A nice kickoff return by Devery Henderson set up the Saints with a chance to throw one long throw to set them up with a FG, and that is what they did. Jay Cutler hit Lance Moore on a post route that allowed Hartley to boot a 53 yarder as time expired. At the half, New Orleans had the lead 17-10. In the 3rd, the only points to be scored was on another Hartley FG of 35 yards sending the game into the 4th quarter with a Saints lead of 10. The Falcons scored on their next drive but it was too little too late as the Saints tacked on 2 more TD's at the end of the game to cruise on to victory 34-17. The Saints are now 5-4 and leading their division. Next week, New Orleans faces off against lilaaddzz and the Oakland Raiders.
    Noteable Stats
    Jay Cutler: 12-16, 261 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT
Matt Forte: 17 Att, 125 yards, TD
Jimmy Graham: 6 Rec, 62 yards, 2 TD
Lance Moore (Player of the Game): 3 Rec, 132 yards, TD

Chargers take care of Bucs behind Mathews big day
    [IMG]
Tampa, Florida - In a game deemed by some Buccaneer players as a win at all costs game, the Chargers marched into Raymond James Stadium and took care of business. Controlling the game on the ground was RB Ryan Mathews, who carved up the Bucs defense to the tune of 128yards and 2 touchdowns. Early in the game Chargers QB Philip Rivers would continue his sloppy play, throwing two picks, but the Buccaneers could not capitalize going 3 and out on both turnovers. TE Antonio Gates hauled in three huge catches for 115 yards, barely missing a TD in the second quarter.
"It'll take some time for this team to find its true identity, but today was a step in the right direction" said coach Smith Ellis "If we control the trenches, we control the game. Philly Riv's needs to do a better job at taking care of the football. You can't win in this league giving the ball to the other team. Luckily we had Ryan to kind of pick us up today."
This isn't the first time Coach Smith Ellis has called out QB Philip Rivers. Rivers who is near the top of the league in interceptions thrown has had a terrible start to the year, and Smith Ellis who is known for his short leash no matter the contract has sworn if play does not improve could lead to Rivers being benched.
The Chargers head home for a clash with the Denver Broncos next week, as they try and gain momentum from this victory.
    Final
    Chargers - 27
    Buccaneers - 17
    Notable Stats
Philip Rivers: 17-25, 252 Yards Passing, 2 Int
Ryan Matthews: 15 Rushes, 128 Rushing Yards, 2 Rushing TD's, 3 Receptions, 7 Reception Yards
Antonio Gates: 4 Catches, 115 Yards
Josh Freeman: 20-37, 182 Yards Passing, 1 Passing TD, 1 Int
Doug Martin: 10 Rushes, 83 Yards, 1 TD
Vincent Jackson: 3 Catches, 45 Yards, 1 TD

    Tough game for the Texans.

Chicago Bears play some tough defense. The game against the Texans would prove no different. After a solid start the Texans struggle to move the ball in the second half as the Bears battle back.

The Texans were lead by another even performance by Matt Schaub. Schaub would throw 3 Tds and for 307 yards and two ints. Andre Johnson lead the team in receptions with 7 for 125 and a long of 51. The offensive ground game struggled without Ben Tate. Forsett carried the load 18 times for very few yards and two fumbles. Chicago 18 Texans 21

Coach J: Well people of the media it was a tough one out there today. Matt played well enough to win. I would have liked to see the run game get going a little better but Justin is just getting his feet wet. Weve got a few people nicked up JJ Watt is out 3 weeks with a groin pull. Ben Tate is out 5 weeks with a torn shoulder. Brandon Harris is out 5 weeks with a few broken ribs. We hope to get all these guys back in time for a playoff push.

Weve got the Jags next week and I need to get these guys ready. You all good people have fun. I will see you next week.

Romo’s 5 Touchdowns passes pace Cowboys in win versus Eagles
    romo vs eagles.jpg
    Game Ball:
    T. Romo: 307 pass yards, 5 TD's (2 int's)

    Passing:
    Romo: 15-21 307 yds, 5 TD, 2 int
    Vick: 11-28 178 yds 1 TD 1 Int

    Rushing:
    Murray: 21-98
    R. Grant:-14-71

    Receiving:
    Bryant 4-44, 1 TD
    Wittin 3-70, 1 TD
    Ogletree 1-22 1 TD
    Austin 2-115 2 TD’s

    Jackson 3-43
    Maclin 3-54
    Celek 4-68, 1 TD

    Defense:
Spears, Ware, Butler & Coleman 1 Sack each
    S. Lee 5 Tackles
    M. Claiborne 2 tackles, 1 Int

    Asomugha 3 Tackles, 2 INTs
    Ryans 6 Tackles
    C. Jenkins 5 tackles, 1 sack
    J. Babin 2 Tackles, 1 Fumble Recovery (TD)

Romo threw for a season high 307 passing yards and tied a career high with 5 touchdown passes against the Rival Eagles. He wasn’t perfect though, he did throw two interceptions (Asomugha catches everything he gets his hands on). He spread the ball around, completing passes to seven different receivers. Austin lead the way for the receivers with 115 yards (season high) and two touchdown receptions. Bryant, Witten and Ogletree each had a Touchdown reception as well. The running game got going again as Murray had 98 yards on 21 carries and F. Jones had 43 yards on just 4 carries.

Dallas came into this game knowing they needed to pressure Vick, and they did a good job doing so. Sacking the QB four times and forcing him to throw an Interception. They only allowed him to complete 39% of his passes. The Dallas defense also held the Eagles as a team to just 81 rushing yards, which is huge since last week M. Turner burned them for over 150+ yards on the ground.

The tone of the game was set early, as the Eagles quick tempo offense marched down the field and into the redzone, but the Dallas Defense held strong and only gave up a field goal. Dallas scored on their next possession to take a 7-3 lead. Again the Eagle were in prime scoring position but had to settle for another field goal cutting the Dallas lead to 7-6. That’s as close as the Eagles would get for the rest of the game. Dallas was up 14-6 at the half and recovered the surprise onside kick by the Eagles to set them up with great field position to start the second half. They capitalized and went up 21-6. Later in the third Vick found B. Celek on a nice route for a touchdown to narrow the score to 21-13. However, Dallas scored two quick touchdowns to go up 35-13, and they were driving again, that’s when Murray fumbled at J. Babin scooped it up and ran it back 43 yards for the touchdown. 35-20, on the next drive Dallas was able to run ball consistently, while draining the clock and ended up with a chip shot field goal with just under 2 minutes to play to go up by 3 scores (38-20). The Eagles threw a few hail marries with no success and after the TO on downs Romo took a knee to end the game.

    Game notes:
Romo ties career high with 5 TD passes
    J. Hanna 1st career reception (16 yards)
Dallas wins for first time this year while losing the turnover battle

    Next up: Browns

    VIKINGS 14, LIONS 10
    DET at MIN 2012.jpg
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota --- Make it five in a row. That's right. Five straight wins for the Minnesota Vikings following a narrow 14-10 win over the division rival Lions at the Metrodome.
For the most of the game on Sunday, it appeared as though the Vikings' winning streak would be snapped at four. After an impressive opening drive to take an early 7-0 lead, the Minnesota offense was not able to muster any sustainable momentum. The defense was also having a hard time getting the Detroit offense off of the field which likely cooled off the Vikings' offense.
Following the Vikings' opening drive that put them up 7-0 both teams traded missed field goals. Finally, midway through the second quarter the Lions were able to connect on a short 18-yard attempt after a stout goal line stand by the Minnesota defense. The Viking offense could not get anything going on it;s next drive though and Detroit was on the field again inside of two minutes. Detroit drove to the Minnesota goal line once again and were stuffed on a third and 1 attempt. Lions coach Shawn Woodsmall decided to roll the dice on 4th and one and managed to punch it in on the one yard scamper from Mikel Leshoure to grab a 10-7 lead.
The three point lead by the Lions looked as though it would hold up as the Minnesota offense stagnated on each of their next two drives. However, a late defensive stand by the Vikings gave the team the ball back with about 3:00 to play. The Vikings' second-year quarterback, Christian Ponder, mounted an impressive drive that culminated with a 19-yard touchdown pass to Jerome Simpson with just 19 seconds to play. The Lions were able to complete one pass to move them inside of the 50-yard line but a game-ending Hail Mary fell incomplete and the Vikings were able to hold on for their fifth straight win.
The Vikings will have a bye next week while the Lions will return home to host the division leading Packers.
GG woodsmall. Take out the Packers for me next week would ya? :D

    Jacksonville vs. Indianapolis
The Jaguars ended their 4-game losing streak in style this week, shutting out the Colts 27-0 on the heels of Maurice Jones-Drew, who ran for 120 yards and 2 TD's. Blaine Gabbert contributed a touchdown in an almost flawless effort this week compared to weeks past. The defense was the true asset for the Jags today, as Dwight Lowery led the way with 4 tackles and 2 interceptions off of Andrew Luck, who was held to 3 interceptions and 94 yards. Next week, the Jags look to even the race for the AFC South divisional race with the scorching-hot Houston Texans in what should be a power-running slugfest.
