Game Summaries: Week 13, Season 4

Notre Dame survives Oklahoma in Norman to stay unbeaten, 31-24

The Irish have passed all of their tough tests on the season: Cal, Michigan, USC, Oregon State in Corvallis. After the Oregon State game everyone in South Bend had Oklahoma circled on the calendar. Both of these teams have the talent to make a run at the crystal football.

Notre Dame's D was fired up to start the game. The Irish forced a 3rd and 15 on OU's opening possession when...

...uh oh. OU HB E. Walker brakes one off from 71. 7-0 Sooners.

The Irish would take the ball, however, and respond in kind:

Deion Walker's 19 yard TD would tie the game.

Notre Dame had a fantastic 2nd quarter and dominated the ball in all facets of the game. After another Deion Walker TD, Notre Dame DT Brandon Newman had the play of the game:

This shit only happens in video games (and the national title game)

The teams would trade TDs to put the score at 28-14 at the half.

Notre Dame could only muster a FG in the 2nd half, but the defense held up. Oklahoma was driving the ball to tie when the unthinkable happened:

Brandon Newman's second INT OF THE DAY!!! sealed it for the Irish

The offense finally showed up. Charest had 300 yards passing in the first haif with 4 TD passes. Green had 100 yards rushing and 2 TDs, 1 rushing and receiving.

    Highlights to come.

How does one make a highlight reel?

Michigan Downs Hated Rival Ohio State

    THE GAME

The mother of all rivalries took place last night @ 9pm Central...

#6 Ohio State travel north on US - 23... to downtown Ann Arbor.

To battle the #8 Michigan Wolverines,

    In THE BIG HOUSE !!

    1st QTR

Ohio State won the toss and chose to defer until the 2nd half.. Michigan took the ball. The Wolverines would get the ball at the 20 yard line. Tate Forcier lead the offense out on the field. A win here would get the Big 10 Title... Michigan started by pounding the rock with Vincent Smith.. But the stiff Buckeye defense would not let Michigan bust loose. Forcing a 3rd and +10 Foricer would drop back in the Shot-Gun and look to go long. Minimal pressure would allow plenty of time for Tate to find an open recvier, but an Ohio State D-Lineman would sneak through the O-Line and and nearly sack Tate but he would be able to shrug him off and Roundtree down the middle of the field for a 64 Yd TD Pass to take the early 7-0 lead. Ohio State would come out and try to answer the Blue, but would be picked off by the SS Emlien would race down the left side line inside the Buckeye 20. OSU would stand strong and force the FG from 35yards out. O St would get 3pts after a strong stand by the Wolverine Defense. 10-3 after 1

    2nd QTR

Both Teams would battle for field position as each teams offense tried to figure out a way to break through to the endzone. Michigan would force an INT and get close again but the redzone still couldnt be breached. So Blue settled for the 38yard FG to add to the lead 13-3. Ohio St would get locked down a couple times by the Michigan defense who set up the offense will great field position and Michigan would again add on it its lead 16-3 with 35 seconds left. Ohio St would get the ball and catch the Wolverines in the zone a couple times that allowed Star TB Berry to bust loose and get the Buckeyes a shot at the 54yrd FG as time expired. 16-6 headed into the half.

    3rd QTR

The Michigan offense would be put in time out during much of the 2nd half. Michigan was trying to make long sustained drives vs the Bucks but Michigan would engineer some sporadic yards. both teams battled up and down the field until the Bucks managed to get another FG this time from 23yards out. The Michigan defense was playing lights out. it had made 3 stops deep inside its own 20 and now the offense came back to try and get some more points or at the very least eat as much clock as possible. it would be 16-9 at the end of the qtr.

    4th QTR

In the 4th both teams had a couple possessions. but the Michigan offense was cut ineffective by the Buckeye defense. So Michigan would fall to its Monstar Defense to keep the score where it was and presevre the W. Twice Ohio State would get some drives together. and Twice the defense stood tall. On the final drive, Michigan had pinned O St inside the 2 yard line. OSU managed to get out to the 8 yard line before a clipping call would make it 4th and 11. Ohio St would convert the 4th down. Reeling Michigan scrambled to come up with a way to stop the Bucks from driving down and tying the game with under 2 mins to play. The Bucks would get past the 50 yard line and inch ever closer with each play. Finally Michigan caught a break, on a PA pass OSU dropped back and fired a ball down the left hash only to have it picked off by the Wolverines. With the ball in hand and 1:30 seconds left. Michigan would need at least 1 first down. They would get that first down when Foricer was forced out of the pocket from a strong blitz off the right side.

    Michigan Prevails 16-9.

Great Game BK one of the most intense games i have been apart of in TF..
