Rival Broncos catch severe ass whipping in home loss.

    EMU - 28 WMU -3

EMU wins their first MAC game of the year over their rivals. We dominated this game from start to finish. Unfortunately, Andy Schmitt was hurt early on and is expected to miss the next four weeks - which is why it's good to see that the Eagles' running game looks very capable of picking up the slack. Backup QB came in and played well enough. Threw a pick, but that wasn't really his fault. The team should be fine with him in there 'til Schmitt can come back, provided we can continue running it so effectively. WR Stone caught a long TD pass which would take away any possible hope of victory in the third quarter. The only other negative is a pretty big one though. Three missed FGs that were chip shots..gotta practice kicking I suppose. Other than that, this was another solid week for Eastern Michigan.

I'll post stats later, since I'm tired of dealing with EA's severs right now. We ran the ball though. A lot. And got a lot of yards.

Up Next: @ [IMG] Another week, another road trip to play a MAC foe. It'll be important for this team to get the victory and move to 2-0 in conference, before they face what arguably are their two toughest remaining opponents: Cincy, and Northwestern on the road.

    FCS MW @ TCU

TCU hosted FCS in their first home game of the season. The Red Dragons weren't much of a challenge for the TCU Horned Frogs. The second team offense and defense saw time during the entire second half. TCU had fun with this one and look forward to their week 4 opponent, as the Horned Frogs travel to South Carolina to take on the Clemson Tigers in a huge OOC Matchup.

Final Score: TCU 66 FCS 7

Idaho played their home opener hosting SDSU at the newly renovated Kibbie Dome. The Vandals came into week 3 with an 0-2 record (0-1 conf). The Vandals main problem in this young season has been giving up frequent long runs. Broken tackles up front, and missed big hits in the secondary resulting in huge runs.

    1st Qtr
The Vandals and Aztecs trade punches in the 1st qtr. Both teams scoring twice, highlighted by yet another long run vs. this Idaho defense. SDSU HB, A. Henderson rumbled 53 yds on the last play of the qtr., tying the game :
    Idaho 14 SDSU 14

    2nd Qtr
At one pt. SDSU led in the 2nd qtr 24-14, but Idaho fought back... scoring twice in the final minute of the half.
    Idaho 28 SDSU 24

    3rd Qtr
Jr. HB Denote Jackson opens the 2nd half with a 95 yd kick off return for a TD, setting a new school record for longest KO return. Jackson had a big first half on the ground and the KO return had the crowd on their feet in appreciation. The only other scoring in the 3rd qtr was an Idaho Fg of 45 yds
    Idaho 38 SDSU 24

    4th Qtr
The Vandals lost crowd pleaser HB Deonte Jackson for 3 weeks with a pinched nerve early in the 4th qtr. His performance on the day was enough to give the Vandals a comfortable lead. Idaho will certainly miss him moving fwd over the next few weeks. The home crowd would have more to cheer about though as the Aztecs moved into desperation catch up mode. Idaho DL Jonah Satarka (captain) - sensed the desperation from SDSU and had two huge sacks. The first sack ended and SDSU possession on 4th and long... and the second sack knocked SDSU QB Ryan Lindley out of the game as Satarka drove him into the ground. Lindley lost the ball on that play and Idaho routinely converted. That was enough to put this one in the books. Idaho gets their first win of the season.
    FINAL SCORE : IDAHO 52 SDSU 31

Back up running back Princeton McCarty had 3 TDs on the day on a total of 14 yds rushing. He was in the right place at the right time. QB Nathan Enderle had a big day completing 27 of 39 passes for 347 yds. 2 TDs and 2 INTs.

Wolfpack Sneaks out with win @ Indiana

Nevada has a never say die attitude.

NV headed back to the state of Indiana to take on the Hooisers.. Coming off the bye last week NV was well rested. IU on the other hand came into the game with some good momentum. The Hoosier offense is ranked in the top 10..while Nevada's stout defense that showed up was ranked in the top 10 in rush and pass defense.

    1st Qtr.

Nevada took the toss and with it the ball. NV came out and ran the ball left, right and up the gut. after getting out to the IU47 the Pack stalled and was forced to put, downing the ball at the 1. On the first defensive series NV looked to get a saftey but it was ruled McCrays forward progress stopped at the one. IU again ran the ball this time McCray breaking a tackle and took off and was brought down at the 40. again the handed the ball off to McCray and again he broke a couple tackles and he was off to the races. Giving IU the early 7-0 lead. NV got the kick off and brought it back to the IU47 right where they had left off. again NV attacked with the run. finally a toss left broke open a long run for SR RB Lippincott and the game was now tied 7-7.

    2nd Qtr.
Nevada again had possesion first and down the field they went this time lippincott off an option play from 24yrds out gave the Pack their first lead of the game. 14-7. It wouldnt take long for the Hooisers to respond. Going 65 yrds on a Chappell pass down the left sideline just a mear 16seconds after the NV TD. NV clearly saw that this game would only be won by total ball control. with 1:32 left in the 2nd NV TB Via Taua banged in from 6yrds giving NV a 21-14 lead. Unfortunately NV left too much time on the clock and the defense was intotal confusion. with 18seconds left IU got the tying TD from McCray from 12 yards out.. NV took the ball and tried to race down field but a dropped pass in the endzone as time expired kept the game tied.

    3rd Qtr.

IU got the ball to start and again down the field they drove plowing through the NV defense. McCray added yet another rushing TD from 12yrds out. NV attempted to match IU but was stopped on 4th Down and 3 at the IU47 on a pass play.. Kaepernick should have taken off instead of staying in the pocket. IU took the ball and headed back down the field, still NV defense was acting like it was lost in the woods... IU passing took off and scored another TD after fail attempts to tackle.. but after the TD IU made its most costly mistake. Freeland shanked the ball left and missed the XP 21-34 IU.. on the ensuing kickoff apprently stunned that Freeland missed the XP NV field the ball with M. Patterson who race down the left side line for 91yrds to pull within 6 points.

    4th Qtr.

After a Kaepernick pass was intercepted IU ran the wildcat formation and scored with B. Payton from 56yrds out. IU would elect to go for 2.. but the NV stood tall and now the score was 40-28.. Things were looking pretty bad for NV right now.. but Coach T2Express brought his team together and gave them a quick talk after stopping the 2pt converson. He said only one thing "Why are you here?" without another word said the offense took the field. and 1 minute later the NV offense drove 80 yards and punched in a TD from Taua from 2 yrds out. 40-35 IU. IU got the ball but the NV defense finally came alive shutting down IU and forcing them back 8 yards the Hooiser punted with 3:58 left. with just under 4 mins the Wolfpack had to decide if they should go for a quick score or eat clock and punch one in? Coach T2Express told his offense.. "lets shove that ball up there a$#!" and to the ground they went. running left running right and running down the middle with a combonation of options, slams and slashes the offense drove down the field and ate all but 11 seconds to go NV had the ball at the 1yrd line. Via Taua took the toss and now NV had a 2pt lead. T2Express decdided that it would be best to go for 2 since a FG would win it for IU. this time Lippincott got the ball and banged in for 2.. 43-40 NV.. NV kicked off deep and the Hooiser would have 83 yards to go to get the win. NV came out in 3 deep and played prevent. Chappell took the first snap and couldnt find an open reciver and was forced to throw it away. with 2 seconds left giving the hooiser 1 more shot. Chappell dropped back and so did the NV defense.. they knew that IU WR D. Belcher would the target for Chappell and sure enough that where the ball went. CB Frey streaked like a bullet from the middle of the field and caught Belcher in the air and blew the ball out of his hands.. NV walks away from another road game Victorious.

    POST GAME INTERVIEW

After the game Coach T2Express had this to say "Im proud of the way we responded to adversity. we could have rolled over when they went up by 2 scores, we could have just said they are better than us and just givin up. But we didnt.. The defense didnt look quite as sharp as they were agains ND. i think they didnt feel that IU was real in the passing and rushing attacks and i feel thats what hurt us.. we were in the right postion to make some stops and not give up over 400yrds but we just didnt finish. thats all we are going to practice as we prepare for Mizzou next week is Tackling. over all i was proud of the offense that we were able to stick to the game plan and pound the rock. that has been our entire goal all season.. the offense keeps improving we gained more yards this week than against ND. hopefully the defense will pull their heads out of their a^#es and play like they did against ND.

Taua is a workhorse, isn't he. When I played as Idaho, he use to victimize me. Lippincott was easy to deal with compared to him. He was a lot like playing against Roy Helu last year.

i have been switching them. i would probably say that Taua is probably the new #1 back and Lippincott will be moved to the FB spot. i just gotta get them both on the field.

    Rivalry Game

    Boise State 26 @ Fresno State 23

Boise State came out strong in this one. We were up 20-0 at one point. We let them back in the game by not sticking to our gameplan and trying to force passes. Kellen Moore started out great but threw 3 interceptions to tie his touchdown stats. The Bulldogs gained tons of momentum from each pick they made and marched their way back into the ball game. Boise State hit a field goal to win the game with 2 seconds left. Huge win as Boise State now improves to 2-1 and 1-0 in Wac conference play.

    Kellen Moore 18-29 237 3TD 3INT

    Jeremy Avery 13-120, 4-47

    Richie Brockel 4-49 1TD
    Titus Young 4-76
    Austin Pettis 3-37 1TD

    Anger Resides in Buffalo.

Buffalo got crushed on the road again. This time against Central Florida, 36-17. The last touchdown came in garbage time. So I've come to discover my QB's cant handle the pressure of the crowds in other teams stadiums. Jorgensen threw 4 picks. But since he's the better of the 2 QB's, he isnt hitting the bench. One week after squeaking one out at home against Pittsburgh, we got blown wide open in the second half. Down 10-7 at the half, and some horrible play calling by yours truly. We had a fumble inside the UCF 10. Then as we're going for the tie, with :07 in the first half, I figured time for one quick pass, but as I rolled out, Jorgensen got blasted...no timeouts...beep! Half Time down 3. Then UCF came out and put the smack down on us. Down 29-10, I lined up for a Hail Mary just hoping to launch one up catching the D unaware...nooooope. ot picked off...i gotta be more selective with my pass play calling....Horrible horrible play calling.

Just hoping to be bowl eligible now. At the beginning of the season we thought we'd easy make a bowl game appearance, now...we're hoping. We lost 2 should win games, and won the one we shoulda been decimated in.

Ouch. Tough to follow up a big upset against Pitt with a game like this.

    BYU continues to blow it.

BYU had a great opportunity to knock off FSU at Lavell Edwards. Once again bad turnovers and a defense that falters at the wrong time cost the Cougars. BYU behind a Heisman like effort from Max Hall mathced FSU score for score. BYU WR Oneal Chambers ahd a coming our party in this one. Even Matt Gaskins the backup QB came in the game in the redzone with about a minute to go delivered a go ahead TD pass (Hall injured). FSU would get the ball drive and score a TD with 20 seconds left to take the lead. Christian Ponder would hit WR Forston on a deep corner route that torched the corner and safety for the score.

Oneal Chambers and a BYU diehard.

We might go 0-12 but we are nice guys!
