The Oregon State Beavers win a pivotal non conference game but loose their leader and starting Quarterback. Senior QB Cody Vaz broke his collarbone early in the second half and will sit the rest of his Senior season out. This marks the third OSU player to end his career on a season ending injury under Head Coach Frisk. Vaz replacement has not been named but SO Jon Smith took the remaining snaps for the game, completing 5 of 9 passes for 76 yards with 1 TD. The race for starting QB will be between FR Sean Mannion and SO Jon Smith.

The Beavers played decent on offense besides the 4 turnovers. SO HB Ashton Jefferson is now filling in for the injured Jovan Stevenson and rushed for 106 yards on 16 carries. The top receiver was Jordan Bishop who caught 6 passes for 132 yards with 1 TD.

The Oregon State defense held Boise to just 166 total yards of offense with 26 being on the ground. MLB Trent Wilson led the team with 9 tackles, 4 TFL.

The Oregon State Beavers will now have a bye in order to prepare for more Pac 10 conference play. They will resume with Washington in Corvallis on week 7.

    USC @ Notre Dame

    USC 13 Notre Dame 24

In a match-up of the last two national champions, both teams came into this rivalry game looking to stake their claim as the premier program in the nation and stay in the national title hunt. Notre Dame and coach 2Bits were looking to extend the nation's longest winning streak, which now stands at 12 games, against a USC team that handled the Irish easily last year - the 27-17 final score was not as close as it seemed.

Luck was on the side of the Irish from the start, for on the first play from scrimmage...

Curtis McNeal's FUMBLE set the tone for USC's day on the ground

After two straight stops at the goalline, Irish tailback Jonas Gray takes it in from 3 yards out to give Notre Dame a 7-0 lead.

After a quick stop by Notre Dame's defense, Dayne Crist would put the Irish up 14 on this 70 yard TD pass to Shaquelle Evans:

Shaquelle Evans split two Trojan defenders for this 70 yard score

But the Trojan's would not fade quietly. Two quick USC scores cut the Notre Dame lead to 4 points near the end of the half.

Henderson's run plus a FG late in the 2nd cut ND's lead to 14-10

But, with under a minute left, Crist drove the Irish down field and...

Fab Freshman Sean Moss extended the Irish lead to 11 just before the half

Neither team would score a touchdown in the second half. It turned into a defense battle as both teams forced punt after punt. USC added a FG at the beginning of the 4th to cut the lead to 21-13. Notre Dame then put together a 3 plus minute drive and added a FG to seal the win.

I think 2bits will probably take the rest of the season and shove it in his back pocket. Too much talent and too many weapons. The LB core for ND is just too much BEAST!

    CAL @ UCLA

The clash of two Pac-10 powerhouse teams met today in Los Angeles California. Will Cal Univ have what it takes to redeem themselves from last years embarassment against the Bruins. The first Qtr started very well for Cal...

    1st Qtr

Cal and UCLA punt on their opening drives (the only 2 punts in the game). Cal drives up the field to the UCLA 37 yard line. On 4th and 1 Cal decides to go for it and busts a 37 yard run with SR RB C. "Debo" DeBoskie. On UCLA's following drive UCLA would turn the ball over by way of an interception from Soph SS M.Taylor. (Thanks BC if you're the one who recruited him for me) :)

    7-0 Cal

    2nd Qtr

Cal would drive down the field again and find SR TE S.Ladner wide open off a play action pass for a 37 yard TD.

UCLA would quickly respond with a long drive with a 2 yard TD run. Cal and UCLA would repeat long drives for short 2 yard runs for TDs. But with 42 secs Cal runs the ball 50 yards for the last second FG.

    24-14 Cal

    3rd Qtr

This qtr was all UCLA. They would score twice, one FG and a 28 yard TD pass.

    24-24

    4th Qtr

Cal would put together an exciting drive off of a screen pass to RB "Debo" DeBoskie.

Did you notice how unbelievably fast his FS is?

But Cal would only get a FG. UCLA drove down the field yet again and throws a 13 yard TD pass to his TE. The game is now 31-27 UCLA with 70 seconds left! Cal runs the ball up the gut for a gain of 12. Passes it 4 more times to get it down to the UCLA 4 yard line. With 22 seconds left JR RB D. "Yard" Yardway scores from 2 yards out to end the game.

    Cal 34-31

Thanks man, it was a tough one!

Thanks CA, I put that nice juke on his safety but he loops all the way around and catches up with my RB with ease. I couldnt believe how fast he was, I should've got the TD! haha

    PSU Beat Minnesota 30-17

PSU was leading 21-10 and with 5 mins left in 3rd quarter Minnesota threw an interception that was timed perfectly with a disconnection. Neither team could continue game and CA said sim so it was a sim. Too bad we couldn't finish this one out.

    Oregon inches by Stanford

    Oregon : 21
    Stanford : 7

RB Parks was injured in the 1st QTR, so the Ducks turned to there 3rd stringer and 4th stringers for the rest of the game. RB Bell ran 25 times for 114 yards and 1 rush TD. He also had 2 catches for 35 yards and 1 TD.

Oregon ran the ball 51 times for 200 yards and 1 TD. Without Parks, it was hard to generate big plays and the offense looked very slow. They only good thing to take away form the game today was that Oregon was 12-18 on 3rd downs, ans they controlled the clock for over 17 minutes.

Michigan takes Indiana to the Woodshed....

Coach T2Express lead the mighty Blue out to take on Big10 rival Indiana..

After getting flat out embarassed last week vs ND, Michigan came out with a fire under there asses and it didnt take long to take it out on the Hooisers... Tate Foricer ran 62 yards from the first play to the endzone but was called down at the inch line... 7-0..
Michigan would get huge plays from both the Offense and defense in the 1st qtr hanging 21 and keeping IU shut out..

in the 2nd it was more Foricer and Smith.. but a couple breakdowns in coverage and poor tackling gave IU 13 points... but Michigan answered with 14 to take a 35-13 lead into half time.. Foricer came out for the first series after the half and lead UM down for another 7points..

The depth of michigan would add another 24 points to the to total to finish the scoring at 59 for UM.

Michigan put up 480yards on the ground spread out between 3TBs and 3QBs... UM did throw for 150yards and a TD but was intercepted 1time.

Tosu still struggling to find their game this season....pounds northwestern 50-36. Game was much closer than score shows.

Coach Bk " the stats dont show how close this game was. Siems and berry both had good games...the Defense ...not so much.

    Passing
    Siems 21-39 335 yards 5 tds

    Rushing
    Berry 10-139 2 Tds

    Receiving
8 players combined for 335 yards and 5 TDs
with no player having over 5 catches or 72 yards

We are starting to figure out what we want to do this season. We have 2 weeks until our first true test #17 Iowa
