    1-4(0-1)Purdue @ 4-1(1-1)Minnesota

A must win game against the Boilermakers is at stake. As the next two games on the Gopher schedule could result in losses as they travel to Penn State and Ohio State.

Duane Bennett, rusty from not playing against Wisconsin was horrible. So, the Gophers turned to DeLeon Eskridge who seemed to be hungrier. Two missed field goals kept the Boilermakers at 7 entering the 4th.

After a Boilermaker TD bringing the score to 21-14. Minnesota goes into ball control mode. Hitting a 45 yarder to keep the win safe. 24-14
Purdue, obviously, of course scores. It is unreal how the QB goes into robo mode and the receivers suddenly are a bit faster than they were all game. They also seem to have a knack for angles. Purdue's kicker misses the extra point. 24-20 game over after a failed onside kick.

    Adam Weber 13-20 195 2TD

    Duane Bennett 17-54
    DeLeon Eskridge 12-48 1TD

    Hayo Carpenter 5-113 1TD
    Xzavian Brandon 3-49 1TD

Key Stat: MN 13-15 3RD DOWN CONVERSIONS

Brandon Graham had a great week of practice.

Michigan Wins . . . their first game of the season

    Michigan 17 Iowa 3

Brandon Graham led a defensive gem for the Wolverines. He had three sacks on the day. The Wolverine D would sack Iowa's QB 7 times on the day. they also added an intercepted option pitch and 3 interceptions.

Iowa's defense bullied the Michigan offense the whole game. The offense managed to score 1 tocuhdown on a tate Forcier option keeper from 3 yards out. Michigan was super conservative and ran the ball most of the game. Rich Rodriguez actually coached like he had a clue, by not letting his offense get in the way of a great defensive effort.

Huge Upset in the PAC 10

In a stunning upset, the underdog UCLA Bruins defeated the #12 Oregon Ducks 45 - 7 at the Rose Bowl.

Suprisingly, UCLA was able to control the game with a power running game. Milton Knox grinded out 158 yards on 38 carries with 3 touchdowns with a long run of 11 yards.

The UCLA defense was able to hold the Ducks star running back LeGarrette Blount to 45 yards on the ground and was able to pick off 7 Masoli passes.

Play of the Game - With UCLA up 7 - 0 in the first quarter, Oregon elected to try a 55 yard field goal. The kick never made it to the end zone and UCLA Punt Returner Terrence Austin returned the miss field goal 97 yards for a touchdown. This play seemed to get everything going for the Bruins.

    Is UCLA for real?

Captured the final few moments of my game @ Washington. I thought the play seen in the replay was pretty funny, so I took some time goofing around with that.

Arizona quietly moves to 4-1 on the season with a victory on the road. This was a defensive struggle to the last, a game in which the Wildcats' offense struggled to maintain any kind of consistent offense. Surprisingly, the undermanned Huskies were able to move down into scoring position a number of times early on, but were unable to close out.

Key Stat - Washington 0-3 on fourth down. On three different occasions, the Huskies opted to go for the first down rather than attempting long field goals. They were shut down each time, and that ultimately was the difference in the game. Arizona was given good field position for most of the game, and their offense managed to chip in thanks to a long bomb tossed by QB Scott.

(I've also noticed how the CPU is at times able to just sling the ball down the field late in games no matter what you try on defense...it's lucky I got the onside at the end there.)

    Shutdown!

Badgers lose again on the road. This time to the Ohio St. Buckeyes 51-17.

Terrell Pryor had the game of his young collegiate career.
    Pryor went 23-28 444yds and 6tds.
Badgers runningback John Clay was held to under 100yds for the 2nd straight game rushing for 68yds on 18att. The Badger offense was a horrible 4-13 on 3rd downs.

Next week the Badgers host the Iowa Hawkeyes lead by coach H22APWRD94. Iowa is coming off a tough loss to sdid22's Michigan Wolverines (1st win of the season, CONGRATS!).

Wisconsin needs to find its run game again and get back to playing all-round solid fball if they want a chance against the Hawkeyes.
