    MICH 38 PURDUE 28

"This game was well played by purdue, good play by their qb racking up 245 yards and 3 tds on our defense, hell of a game by him.. we have to do a better job one on one because we are gonna blitz....Tate had a bad game against purdue today, throwing 2 picks and going for like 10 for 28 or something ..we got practice to do. hell we only scored off option plays with the qb..i dont need my qb taking to many hits..we looked like s#%t...young team and we need work. gonna take a bye week and we have Iowa, which is a good ball club"........coach drowsike

Minnesota improves to 3-0 in Big Ten play as it defeats now 4-2 Northwestern. It was the 2nd straight road game for the Gophers who get ready to take on the Michigan State Spartans next week. All cylinders were clicking against the Wildcats as small plays turned into big scores. We scored 21 in the 2nd quarter after ending the 1st quarter up 14-7. Dominating the total offensive stats 474 to NU's 203. Also, on 3rd downs the Gophers played lights out converting 8 out of 10 to NU's 3 out of 10. Impressive performance against a middle of the road team as we had the ball for 22:23 to NU's 9:29.

    Final Score:
    Minnesota 44
    Northwestern 17

    Key Player Stats:

    Adam Weber 12-16 243 3TD 1INT

    Jonathan Pittman 17-125 1TD, 3-22 1TD
    DeLeon Eskridge 15-64, 2-27 1TD

    Bryant Allen 4-115 1TD

Rodgers Who? Stevenson shows his future Potential!

Coming off of a Ankle injury, RB J.Rodgers was ready to get back on the field. To bad it was only for a couple of plays. On the 3rd touch of the first drive in the first quarter, Rodgers went down and limped off the field. The rest of the first half the beavers looked lost, but found their identity in 3rd Down RB J. Stevenson.

Bad QB play gave the ball off to Arizona in good field position several times. Starting QB C.Vaz was sat in the first half after throwing 2 in-accurate passes. Back Up P.Lalich came in the game and it was much of the same. Between both QB's, they went 11/29 for 153 Yards, 0TD's and 4 INT's.

Good thing RB J.Stevenson was there to pick up the slack. Stephens ran the ball 22 times for 106 Yards and 3TD's , he ran back 1 KR touchdown, he also passed the ball for 1TD. He scored all 5 beaver TD's and was the reason they came out with a win today.

The Defense also played well, but was on the field to long. They made some big plays and kept the pressure on throughout the game.

    Washington 38 UCLA 23

Washington's defense stole the show. The picked Prince off 4 times, returning 2 of them for TDs. Washington jumped out to a 21-3 2nd quarter lead before UCLA made it 21-17 at the half. In the 3rd quarter, seldom use used FB, Lester scores on a 5 yard TD run. The following drive has the play of the game. Sylvester picks Prince off and returns it all the way for a TD. The score was then 35-17 Washington. That sealed the win for the Huskies.

In his post game press conference, Washington's coach was asked about the game. His response was that UCLA is a good football team and they played well, but then the plays needed to be made, Washington was fortunate enough to make more of them than UCLA. He wished UCLA well for the rest of the season. Coach was also asked about the status of Polk because Polk has always gotten the ball near the goal line. Coach said they had been going away from Lester since he had that costly fumble against MSU. Coach said that was a mistake. Coach also said it was the unselfish minded Polk who approached him and said we need to be more diverse in the red zone if we want to be competitive in Pac 10. Coach agreed and the team worked on a few different goal line plays for the rest of the season.

Polk was given a game ball for his unselfish play and his inspirational speech before the game.

    UCLA leaders
    Dean 70 yards rushing
    Rosario 6 catches 126 yards 2 TDs
    Moore 10 tackles

    Washington leaders
Locker 80% completion but 2 ints
Polk 106 rushing and 15 receiving
    Fogerson 10 tackles

    Next game against Cal
