    Game Summaries: Week 8

    Western Mich 49
    Buffalo 27

Buffalo had fallen behind 28-3, but forced their way back within 8 pts before Jorgensen got hurt for the 2nd time in the game and was moving at half speed and throwing like Leinart (in the NFL). With a 35-27 lead by Western Michigan, Jorgensen proceeded to toss 3 int's and we blew the game out our asses. Lost 49-27. Ugly. Saron "What's Really" Hood scored twice. As apparently W. Mich decided to double and triple Naaman. Ugly horrible start, and and even uglier ending.

Losing to a 1-6 WMU team blows...Buffalo drops to 4-4.

In the midst of the 3rd qtr of a spectacular game. The lights and power went out in Nevada while Idaho was losing by six and had the ball. When the teams met at mid field and discussed how to proceed, they decided to award Nevada the win. (essentially we had a disconnect after about 30 minutes of gamplay.) I offered to give user TExpress the win rather than restart, etc.. The thing I regret more than losing... is not being able to review any replays. We both had some nice plays worth reviewing and saving. He had more momentum overall which is why I offered him the W. I did have the ball when we disco'd, but it's just too much effort to restart, etc... especially when there is a good chance it could happen again. Good game man! I had just gotten a few runs off after being jammed up all day... it would have been nice to see if I could have sustained any run game there. Dang it EA !

Note to commish : you can award him the W and advance thew week.

    Breaking News

    LTech is Bowl Eligible

    LTech 26 Utah State 23

LTech is now bowl eligible. They beat a surprisingly tough Utah State team 26-23 in amazing fashion. Utah State took a 23-16 lead in the third quarter on a 96 yard run for TD by Speight. After the TD run Ltech played flat. Till about 3 min left in game. LTech drove down the field and had a 4th down deep in Utah State's territory with about 90 seconds left in game. LTech's coach decided with all 3 timeouts left to kick the FG. If this game was at Ruston the fans would have came down on the field and hung the coach. His gamble was rewarded on the first play after kicking the ball off when Speight on an 8 yard run is FORCED OUT OF BOUNDS. This allowed LTech to keep 1 of their 3 timeouts. They stopped Utah State for 2 more plays and got the ball back with 72 yards to go for the win and 1 minute left on the clock. Three plays later, it's 4th down, and they lost 3 yards. Jenkins throws a slant out pass to St Julien. He catches it at the first down marker, somewhow breaks the tackle and sprints 60 yards down the field for the game winning TD with 3 seconds left. St Julien was the injury replacement for Livas on the depth chart, and he finally paid off. With Livas being out, Ruston was wondering would the team find a good compliment to their running game. They got their answer today with a resounding yes.

    Players of game:
    Jenkins 22-44 318 yds 3 TDs
St Julien 5 rec 112 yds 2 TDs

    Utah State
    Speight 160 yds 1 TD

Next week against Idaho I believe, Livas may be back for the game.

    Nevada Idaho

In game that started out with a 14-0 Lead for nevada ended just prior to the start of the 4th qtr.. NV jumped out to a 14-0 lead, NV got the ball to start and grinded away at the Vandal defense... Lippencott would score from 2 yards out to go up 7-0. Idaho would get the ball and come out with a pass that was tipped and intercepted by the NV defense and was returned 25yards to jump out 14-0... The vandals would get the ball back and begin to grind away at the NV defense.. driving the ball 78yards and capping off with a 1yd run by the Vandal QB. 14-7.. Idaho would force a NV punt. both teams traded punts back and forth.. in the 2nd quater NV would would pin the Vandals deep inside the 5yard line.. Idaho tried a screen which had given them a boost on their first scoring drive.. the screen was busted up and NV took a 16-7 lead. with less than a min left in the game NV tried to air it out and put some more distance between themsevles and the Vandals. Kaepernick would throw deep down the left sideline was picked off by the Vandal D who was able to return it for 6.. 16-14.. again NV tried to get a quick score before the half and again was picked off. NV kicked off to ID and the Vandals came out with the option.. The pitch was intercepted and the Wolfpack had first down inside the 10yrd line.. again Lippencott would punch it in to give NV the 23-14 lead... ID would force a few more punts and manage to put up 3pts making the score 23-17 with 30seconds left in the 3rd, the lights went out... Coach T2Express and Coach Milmontpa met to discuss furth action.. Milmont said that NV could take the W. It was a great game from the start.. the Vandals really have something to look forward to in the future.. NV would like to wish them best of luck this year.. and hope they can derail the Boise State Broncos!

    Ohio vs Kent State

    Kent State - 41
    Ohio - 31

Coming of a injury last week, Boo Jackson came into this game looking for a win. To bad that was not the case. Sloppy Play and mis-timed passes lead to 3 turnovers, 2 of them for touchdowns for Kent State. After going 12/25 with 2 Ints and 1 FMB, Jackson was benched mid-way in the third quarter and replaced by Senior QB Brandon Jones. Jones looked good in his short time on the field, throwing 7/9 for 150 Yards and 2 TD's. It was a little late for a comeback, as Kent State had already sealed up the game by the time the 4th Quarter rolled around. Kent State RB E.Jarvis carried the ball 20 times for 97 Yards and scored 4 TD's. It was a bad loss for the Bobcats, as they fall to even at 4-4 overall, and 1-3 in conference play.

    DOUBLE OT THRILLER!

    #12 (5-1) TCU @ (3-4) BYU

The 12th ranked Horned Frogs traveled to the great Brigham Young University to take on Max Hall and the Cougars. TCU Coach Cimmy knew this was going to be a tough road game, but was ready and fired up for this one. Coach sdid and the Cougs would receive the ball first and drive the field for a 2 yard TD run. TCU would get the ball back and on their first play on offense, HB Ryan Christian would go to paydirt from 76 yards away to tie it at 7. Christian would be the noise for TCU as he had a huge day on the ground. Max Hall wouldn't wait long to find Chambers for the go ahead TD, giving BYU a 14-7 1st quarter lead. TCU would manage a FG, but after an interception by the Horned Frogs defense, they would get another TD run by Christian. BYU would find the paint from 3 yards out, this time by HB Kariya. After a interception forced by the Cougar defense, BYU would take the lead on a FG with 15 seconds left in the half. The Cougars must have been ready for halftime as they allowed KR Young to take the kickoff 90 yards to tie the game at 24 going into the half.

In the second half, things would get exciting. TCU's Christian would find the endzone for the 3rd time in the 3rd quarter, resulting in the only score of the quarter. In the 4th, both BYU and TCU would exchange FGs. Max Hall would lead his team down the field to tie the game up with 1:20 left, plenty of time for TCU to get into FG range. They would get close, but after a huge sack and another interception, we were headed to overtime!

TCU would win the toss and give BYU the ball first. BYU would easily get to the TCU 5 yard line and came out in 4 WR set that TCU did not know how to defend. A BYU TD would give the Cougars the OT lead. TCU would again not have trouble running the ball and tie the game sending it to the second OT. In OT #2 TCU would march down the field on the legs of Christian. Back up HB Michael Turner would do the job this time and score from 3 yards out. BYU would come out on offense and easily find another seam in the TCU Defense and get the ball to the Horned Frogs 3. Coming out in 4 WR set yet again, TCU knew what to do and forced a game ending interception!

Final Score: TCU 48 BYU 41

    Stats:
*892 yards total offense combined for both teams
    -QB M. Jackson: 10 for 14 140 YDs 0 TDs 3 INTs
