I cant click the link, but is that for the Deus Ex game and the OnLive subscriptin coupon?
I am not sure how legal that is... but dunno. Gamestop does a lot of stuff that irritates me though
gamestop is going under soon
Did you really just hashtag a post?
The future of video games, not any time real soon though
So in theory you could buy the game, burn the disc and return to Gamestop since the box is already opened. Can they really prove you opened the box if there employees were the one who broke the original seal?
that's how I get down
Gamestop survives on trade-ins and buying/selling used games, which is something the developers and companies that produce these games have been getting worked up about in the past year or so. These companies are starting to experiment with ways to try and stop this (charging $10 to play NCAA online if you don't buy it new, etc.) and this type of activity will only amp up in the next few years. Game developers lose lots of money because of used game sales, and all of it goes into places like Gamestop's pockets.
Even if stuff like this puts Gamestop under it will just increase the private markets like Craigslist, Ebay, Amazon etc to sell used games. You can buy new games just about anywhere. There will always be a market for anything used, especially games and software.....well, until they make it all download only, and make the games register to consoles and shit like that.
stuff like this is why i stopped buying at Gamestop (that and a Best Buy opening up locally).
I am not a gamestop "fanboy" (hate that word) or something but I think it's funny that the publishers get so indignant that someone would try and make money. Then they come up with ALL KINDS OF WAYS to take more of ours with ways that cost them almost nothing, like the in-game point of sales, and the pre-purchasing of games...
