The Gators begin this season with little respect on the AA or even All SEC teams, with only DE Earl Okine being recognized. This team lost starters at QB, RB, WR, CB, FS, K, P, and a few on OL as well. So with 9 new starters, and both specialists being true freshman this could be looked on as a down year for the Gators, but with speed all over the place anything less than a division title will be see as underachieving. Sophomore Trey Burton will lead the offense with his feet and look to get the ball to the speedy playmakers, most noticeably WRs Chris Dunkley and Andre Debose. The defense will be keyed by pretty much everyone on the D line with enough talent to stock 2 teams at each position. So it is the SEC East Crown as the goal this season, and if we do that then we will worry about anything beyond that.

    Week 1 recruiting.

The Gators do not have many needs this season as the roster is flush with underclassmen, so the focus will be on quality and not quantity even with 19 scholarships open this coming offseason. In week 1 the Gators were pleased to announce the signing of 3 of the ESPN 150 recruits.

    4* Marcus Adams DT 6'2" 262
Good moves, and better than average speed should help this pass rusher fit nicely into the Gators defense a couple seasons down the road.

    5* Greg Madison DE 6'5" 241
Great pursuit, good speed, and strong power and finesse moves give this blue chipper a real chance to break into the rotation early on.

    5* Ryan Jordan WR 6'0" 202
A solid possession WR, most likely after a year on the bench, as great hands, jumping, release, and the tendencies to make the spectacular catches look easy should help make him a real 3rd down and redzone target.

    Week 6 recruiting

The Gators reeled in 3 players in week 6, 2 are members of the ESPN 150, and the 3rd is the nations 3rd rated FB. All 3 are likely to see playing time next season.

    5* Scott Everett TE 6'6" 213
Decent speed, great hands, and amazing awareness for a player his age put Everett in place to not only see playing time, but he is a very real threat to jump past some of the current Gator TEs in the depth chart in spring ball.

    5* Joe Castillo MLB 6'1" 218
Speed, strength, good at getting off blocks, better than average coverage skills, and a big hitter make Castillo the early favorite to check in at the #2 spot at MLB for the Gators next season.

    3* Joel Nolan FB 6'2" 253
Solid run blocking, decent speed, and a strong grip on the ball when it is in his hands will help this freshman jump right into the starting FB roll next season.

    Week 7 recruiting

The Gators looked like crap on the field this week, but still gained another commitment from an ESPN 150 recruit, making the 6th member of the 150 they have brought this season.

    4* Richard Williams CB 6'1" 171
This physical CB reads plays well, and excels in coverage of all kinds from press too zone. A redshirt is probable as he looks to improve his tackling and general ability to play against the run.

    Week 8 recruiting

A huge game with rival South Carolina was the stage for several top recruits visiting Gainesville this weekend, and while 4 young men, including the Gators top target at Center, signed elsewhere, the Gators cleaned up with 4 more commits from the ESPN 150.

    5* Bernard Green FS 6'4" 210
Super fast, hits hard, solid coverage skills, and pretty good hands. Just needs work at getting off blocks and awareness. The Gators are deep at this position, but this type of talent will be hard to keep off the field.

    5* Von Jones WR 6'0" 176
Eehhh? A Canadian Heads to the south as the top rated WR in the nation will be a Gator. Good speed and well rounded skills probably mean a redshirt, but his hands and great release ability will give him a chance to get into the rotation sooner than later.

    5* Rory Pratt SS 6'0" 211
The top SS in the nation is as well rounded as them come, and his good strength, block shedding, and coverage will make a him a force against the run as well as the passing game.

    5* Antwan Clifford QB 6'4" 217
More Vince Young than Tim Tebow in this top talent. Speed, check. Agility, check. Elusiveness, check. Size, check. Strong arm, check. He might not run you over, but QB controversy could be brewing for the Gators from the first day of spring ball as coaches has already been reported to be talking about moving starting QB Trey Burton to WR next season to make room for this special talent.

A big win over rival Georgia was not the only highlight of the weekend as the Gators welcomed the 11th member of the ESPN 150 to their class.

    4* Maurice Miller T 6'5" 320
This mountain of a man has strong fundamentals, and will fit in nicely protecting the QBs blind side a couple seasons.

    Week 10 recruiting

The Gators rolled Auburn, and then received commitments from 2 more members of the ESPN 150, bringing the Gators total to 13.

    5* Nick Hall ATH 6'3" 215
Likely to be a WR next season for the Gators, this kid has hands, size, and speed, and will be a big problem for opposing defenses every time he takes the field.

    4* Justin Brown G 6'0" 322
Extremely tough, very well developed as a blocker already, and more speed than your average OL make this dude ideal for the Gators offense.

Another week, another defensive stud signs to perhaps the greatest class the Gators have ever had.

    5* Mike Eaton DE 6'4" 240
Speed, strength, good at getting off block, or at just powering through them. Eaton will fight for playing time right away, but will likely play one season in a backup roll.

    Offseason recruiting Week 1

The Gators missed on perhaps the biggest prize of the recruiting season as Clemson snared a super fast RB, but another solid O-lineman joined the ranks.

    5* Joe Harris G 6'2" 279
A strong run-blocker with great feet that will clear holes for the running game even with being a little on the small side.
