This season looks to be the most promising season for the Bulldogs from Georgia, but they had to get through their first game to even look at what is to come. They knew this was one of the biggest games of the season, and certainly the biggest for the first few weeks.

Early season excitement was clear, and the Bulldog players fed on this excitement. After stopping the Sun Devils on their first drive, Georgia marched down the field with their SR quarterback Will Oliver at the helm, and scored on a 1 yard pass to Sophomore David Green. Green, the cousin of former Bulldog A.J. Green, caught 4 catches on the day in his first ever start.

Georgia continued to play well in the 1st quarter, stopping Arizona State after a few first downs, but getting the stop none the less. Oliver, who go the start over last year's starter C.J. Davis, led the team to 2 more scoring drives in the quarter. Richard Bonds scored from 10 yards out on his first ever carry from the pistol diamond formation, and Jay Pittman also added a 25 yard field goal. Georgia led at the end of the 1st quarter 17-0.

Arizona State settled down though, and after a couple of punts from both teams, drove down the field by Michael Eubanks, the future NFL prospect. The Bulldog offense bent but did not break, and only gave up s 41 yard field goal to make it 17-3. Both teams tried to make a run at a 2-minute offense, and both failed and threw interceptions, so they went into the half with the score 17-3 in favor of the Bulldogs.

Georgia took the opening kickoff and marched down the field behind sophomore Jeff Jones, capping off the drive which took 3 minutes off the clock with a 40 yard field goal by Preston Gibson. Eubanks and Arizona State then responded within 1 minute, with a 24 yard catch and run from Bradley Bradley. The score would be 20-10 Georgia at the end of the 3rd.

After numerous back and forth punting by both teams, Georgia finally put together a solid drive, capped by another Gibson field goal, this time from 36 yards out. Then came 3 touchdowns and a field goal in the span of 1 minute and 52 seconds.

While driving down to try and come back, Eubanks misread the coverage and All-American Zach Robinson stepped in and intercepted the ball, taking it back 93 yards for the pick 6, and the 30-10 lead. Eubanks did not give up though, leading the Sun Devils down and hooking up with Bradley Bradley again, this time from 34 yards to make the score 30-17.

The Sun Devils ended up getting the on-side kick, but could not do anything with it, handing the ball over to Georgia. The Bulldogs had a chance to run the clock out but could not get a first down and ended up settling for a field goal. 33-17.

The Devils scrambled down the field and scored quickly again, but it was too little too late, and the clock struck 0:00 with the final score 33-23 in favor of the Bulldogs.

The big difference in this game was turnovers. Arizona State had way more yards, but had 5 turnovers to Georgia's 1. Georgia also had 7 sack on the game. GG jfosh , and if it weren't for that quick start, you would be writing this recap. Look forward to more games with you to come.

Georgia will play rival South Carolina in Week 3, and Arizona State will take a week off before traveling to Ann Arbor to play Michigan.
