    Giants (36) vs. Redskins (33)

Ok, Giants receive opening kickoff, 2 plays later Brandon Jacobs fumbles recovered by Washington. Skins score at ease with a Ladell Betts 1 yd run. Giants answer with a TD pass to Steve Smith. Giants force 3 and out and then settle for a FG. Campbell to Devin Thomas for a 56 yd score to put the Skins up 14-10. Giants kick a FG at the end of the 1st half to make it 14-13.

Washington comes out running the rock with Portis and eventually punches it in from 18 yds out. Both teams trade FGs. Andre Brown scores to cap off a short drive set up by a Jason Campbell INT. 24 -22 Skins after 3 quarters.

Andre Brown scores again for the G-men making it 28-24 after a failed 2 pt conversion. Washington's FG makes it 28-27 with 3 minutes left. Giants get down to the Skins 5 yd line, but a Ahmad Bradshaw fumble in the endzone gives Washington new life. A 51 yd strike to Randle- El gives Washington a 33- 28 lead with 0:59 remaining. Eli leads a great drive and caps it off with the GW TD pass to Steve Smith. GIANTS WIN 36-33.

Bad news strikes the Giants when after the game it is learned that Brandon Jacobs is lost for the season with a broken elbow.

wow sounds like a great game, perfect for the rivalry. Jacobs lost to the season to go along with Jackson, wow, 2 elite backs gone already in week 1.
