Going into Gillette Stadium, the Giants knew that they would need one of their best performances of the young season to escape with a win.

The first quarter proved to be a defensive show as both teams were shut out and forced into turnovers but in the second quarter the offense came alive.

The Giants went up 21-0 in the second quarter behind Eli Manning and Bradshaw. As New York started to build some confidence, Brady fired a pinpoint pass to Ben Tate for a 65 yard touchdown. On the next drive the Giants struggled and were forced to punt. Brady drove his team down the field and helped his team get a field goal right before half time. Halftime score 21-10

The third quarter was the Green-Ellis and Bradshaw show as they were trading touchdowns for much of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter with under 3:00 minutes left and the Giants deep in New England territory leading by 4, Eli Manning dropped back with the intention to hit Brandon Jacobs but Terrence Newman read the play and jumped in front of the pass. Newman took the interception for 86 yards for a touchdown, giving the Patriots a 38-35 lead. On the ensuing possession the Giants Ward took his first hand off 78 yards before being tackled, setting up for the game winning score. Eli Manning hit tight end Beckum for what would end up being the game winning touchdown. As Brady tried to get his team in scoring position he was picked off by Grant which sealed the upset.
