The Lions traveled to NJ to take on the 4-1 NY Giants in a crucial conference showdown. The Giants right off there bye had plans to come out as strong as they had left off. Early on it didnt show as the Lions made plays and kept attacking. A long Bush run early set up a scoring drive for the Lions as it seemed to be consistant through the first half. Giants played them tough but just couldnt quite make the plays. Slighty missed sacks, interceptions and tackles proved to be the difference in the first half of this game. A crucial fumble by WR Rueben Randle in the 2nd gave the Lions some more heat going into the half up 2 scores.

But as always its a game of 2 halves and this Giants squad isnt one to lay down. Eli got his troops geared up for a comeback. Between the balance of run and pass, the Giants offense kept the chains moving. It was the defense that needed to make the BIG PLAY. Late in the 4th the Giants got that as two 3 and outs lead to the Giants comeback.

A score by Victor Cruz and David Wilson late tied the game up. The Giants D forced a 3rd and long and created a stop to get the ball back in the late 4th. Punt returner Eddie Royal set the Giants up in great field position for the victory as he returned a punt 40 yds into Lions territory. But the Lions still had a shot. The Giants in FG range already, elected to go for the kill on a 4th and 1 to seal the game. Sticking to there guns they pounded the rock and got the 1st down to set up the game winning FG.

    Awesome game Heath
