The toughest part is getting to the end of a season. I am simming for the third time now and will be through game 18 so I am still another 12 or so sims from the playoffs.

4 sims in and still 0-4 injuries per team. Lots of nagging bullshit injuries.

the schedule varies.. its usually between 5 to 8 games. usually around 6 or 7 though games per 2 week tick.

i simmed a week in about 3or 4 mins. thats a lot faster than last year thats for sure.

if we get through 3 full seasons that will be a miracle LOL. i hope we do!

26 week NHL regular season, that would put us at December 29th for the completion of a regular season.

13 weeks for that. then you figure at the very least 2 weeks for playoffs.

so 15 weeks, although, that is around xmas time. so possibly take a week off? but thats not factored in.

off season will take lets say 1 week.

    Jan 19th starts Season 2.

then May 11th would start Season 3.

that would end around August 31st. just in time to trade it in for NHL 15.

the above would mean though, no week off for holidays, and no missed weeks. strict sims every Sunday at 8am etc. annnnnnnnnnnnnd that playoffs have to be done in 2 weeks!

nothing major though? like last year so far? where teams had 4 to 8 players out for 40 plus games etc?

    My overall impressions to date.

Injuries are a little high but it just means depth will matter to the 12 of us. You have to be mindful of your cap and minor league squad.

I don't see anything weird with waivers.

The screens for the mode are a little slow, but no more or less clunky then the regular franchise mode in 13, at least in my opinion.

Here is a break down of injury times. I am at the end of November.

    0-5 28 Player

    6-10 13 Players

    11-15 11 Player

    16-20 10 Players

    20+ 23 Players

The 20+ at first glances seems a tick high but I know the Hawks had 3 players fit the bill for that category last year in a short season (Bolland, Hossa, Sharp) and if you go back in the last few years they have had about 3 to 4 per season. So maybe 23 players isn't as high as I think.

waivers, was an issue with user teams etc. guy claiming a player he should have got, bc he was last in the league. but only that player going to the 1st place team overall in the league. we have to see, test, if thats fixed.

yeah, injuries suck, i dont care about minor ones etc like you are saying. but if we see 8 guys out for 41 plus games, like last year then that sucks the life out of the mode. for users and cpu teams. this also have to be figured out prior to the league officially starting, bc once the GMC starts, you cant go back and turn off injuries. waivers, trades, etc can be adjusted during the season though from in game options. just not injuries.

I hear you there. 1 per team though not too bad in my opinion. That is what you get in real life i feel like.

Also, not a lot of stars injured. Lots of second and third tier guys.

I agree with the HARD DEADLINE. If we finish early we advance but the advance will ALWAYS be ONE WEEK from the last advance (this allows early season flexability so if we are moving along, we can advance and not adhere to a one week deadline just because. If we finish, move on. If not, 8 AM Saturday it is going).

3 seasons would be awesome. Just depends on the commitment level. People cannot get butt hurt if we advance. It is an 82 game season. Losses will and should happen. If you miss a few games it won't be the end of the world.

if you sim Sunday night around 11pm-12am or first thing Monday morning, that would probably be best... lots of guys could get the last game or two in on Sunday afternoon/evening... just my opinion, but if guys don't check the forum until Monday, easy to schedule games for that whole week.

also depends on the player. i'm not gonna be upset if i lose a 4th liner to a 25 game concussion injury. 1st line, that would suck. haha. especially if he's not hurt in a game, but during a sim.

    Regular Season Stats

    Goal Leaders
    Bobby Ryan - 40
    Michael Ryder - 36
    Tomas Plekanec - 32

    Points Leaders
    Travis Zjac - 81
    Nic Backstrom - 81
    Martin St. Louis - 79

Crosby missed 30 games but finished with 48 points. That's about right when you have scrambled eggs for brains.

7 Goalies played 82 games. Have to love that. 2 more played 80. 11 more played over 70. So 20 of the leagues 30 goalies played 70+ Games. Nothing we can do about that I suppose.

    1st Round

    Blackhawks over Minnesota 4-0
    Winnipeg over Nashville 4-3
    Phoenix over LA 4-2
    Edmonton over Calgary 4-0

    Montreal over Tampa 4-1
    Boston over Ottawa 4-3
    Detroit over NYR 4-0
    Pittsburgh over Carolina 4-1

ive always found a Sunday morning advance is great bc it gives guys a whole day to play a user game etc. you can look at schedule in advance and see what user games will be open. right? since we using the actual NHL schedule.

but either way, whatever works best for everyone advance wise is fine with me.
