GMAC Bowl: WMU (Basis) vs. Rice (drifter)

We have a user bowl game in bowl week 3! Awesome -- so much better than playing the CPU in a bowl game. When is good for you over the next few days? I am pretty flexible after 9pm EDT tomorrow and Thursday nights. Friday things start to get a little bit dicey. I saw that you are busy this week with school stuff and getting ready to graduate, so if you give me some availabilities from tomorrow through Friday I could work around your schedule. Saturday is out completely for me.

I might be able to work you in on wed night. I'm free after around 5 cst. However, I leave for Florida on Thursday and will not return until monday evening.

So it looks like you could end up playing the CPU anyway, unfortunately...

If we advance by then (Mazz is quick usually), I am home from class by 9pm EDT at the latest. So if starting sometime between 8:45 and 9:15 eastern works for you, then lets do it. Otherwise (and unfortunately) I guess I will play the CPU... really hoping we get it in!

We are waiting on Mazz and Dix to play, right? Dix was on XBL yesterday...

... but other than that, those times should work for me.

Ah okay I didn't see Dix yesterday, haven't seen him in a few days. Sounds good re: our game.

My game is done. Says Dix hasn't checked into the dynasty since last Wednesday. Good luck to you both in your bowl. Should be a real good game if basis plays like he did in the MAC CC game.

Good game drifter! I just couldn't hang in the 4th quarter -- 6 total turnovers and you don't deserve to win. Good luck next season.

Was a really tight game through three. I was able to get on top and keep it that way. The athleticism I have on offense really played out in the end. When Basis gets his guys into his system, he's going to be tough to beat. Glad I got at him now.

    Tulane
    4-2-5

Scout away :D Bad enough that you can see what plays I call, now you can look through the playbook to see them even more clearly. Oh well!

LOL, just curious. I'm switching up my playbook next season, so I was just wondering.

I've always thought about running the 4-2-5, but I have too many solid linebackers coming in next season to switch.

I use the 4-2-5 playbook, but I use it about half the time. I use a lot of 4-4 to adjust to an opponent that likes to run the ball, and pass formations/4-2-5 if they like to throw it.

Tulane's playbook gives plenty of balance, which is what I like to do. I strive for a 50/50 run/pass distribution. In my loss to Mazz in the MAC Title Game, I hit the exact 50/50 mark which was pretty cool.

i've always been a fan of it because it was basically what Virginia Tech used to run. Well they basically ran a 4-4 with the 4th linebacker being a rover (lb/safety). I just never really ran with the 4-2-5 in the game.

I will say that Basis's offense is definitely balanced. Very pro-style offense.
