I get to celebrate by doing my best Tim Howard impression. Well as much as one who plays on a C-League Men's team can...
Looks like Bradley has coached rather well this entire cup. His changes are having direct impacts on the game outcomes. I know it will only quell the haters until we lose again, though.
So Freddy Adu looked good huh? I unfortunately had to miss the game because of my volleyball league... Surprised that Donovan didn't start as well. Hopefully I can catch a replay later tonight. Did we stay with the 4-5-1 with Adu up top or move someone else up there?
I'm late but here are a few pics of the Charlotte games. Mexico vs. Cuba and Panama vs El Salvador. I was an idiot and left the DSLR at home so the quality isnt great but you get the idea.
Mexico will be the favorite... but their form in these last 2 hasn't been anything to write home about. Its still 0-0 against Honduras fairly late on.
@Blaza I didnt know you were brown like me? Fuck yea! Mexico's form hasnt really droppep. Its more of the fact that theyre playing teams for a second time in this tourney. Freddy Adu came on today and was absolutely on point. He killed it. But in all honesty, he has been in form for a good year now. His games with his club have been the same, he has actually turned into the leader for his club team in Turkey. Even last season, or 2 seasons ago with Aris, he was playing well. Good to see him on SportsCenter tonight gettin some positive pub from Americans.
I'm so happy for Adu. So many doubters after all these years and he stood up to be counted today. I hope this means he's back for good now. Too many years spent without his presence. In regards to the team's play, I am not impressed. We offered little resistance when Panama would attack us. Do that with Mexico Saturday and Cheech & Company are going to run riot. It really is frustrating to watch.
Yep for a team that is supposed to be all world athletic we sure did look slow and lazy in the second half, huh? If only we had Kobe out there. Pffffftttt.
We don't need Kobe we just need the team to wake the fuck up. The 1st half was the best half the team had played all tournament. They were still allowing Panama to get at them, but the difference then was that the US would take it back down Panama's throat. I don't know what is wrong.
Mike Bradley was completely counter-productive after we went up 1-0. Didn't take the wide open shot from 12 yards out, got in Dempsey's way when he had some space in the box, and then committed two fouls on the offensive half of the pitch. I was just starting to like him after his shit play in the World Cup too... Adu really came out and did himself a favor. Does anyone else think that Agudelo is going to be a dangerous option next to Altidore in the future? I think that kid has some incredible tools. Is it Eric Lichaj that has been playing left back? That guy has been incredible. He's gone up against some really athletic strikers and shut his side of the field down. Also has done a good job of playing the ball up field to dempsey, bradley and Adu last night.
